I have rented many places through VRBO/HomeAway and this was one of the best! The apartment is part of the main home but has a separate entrance and I felt it was very private. The place inside was beautiful with many nice touches and extras you don't usually see in a vacation rental. The bed was very comfortable! The small farm was an added bonus and I loved watching the animals as I sat out on the back deck.
The owner was present in the main home during my stay. She respected my privacy but I enjoyed engaging her in conversation on the area and the farm. She made sure I knew to contact her for any needs, but I didn't have any.
I am a hiker so I enjoyed hiking (and visiting) in the Hot Springs and Max Patch areas. Going the other direction I liked the town of Weaverville, and especially love the Stoney Knob Café. Asheville is also an easy drive. The house is located near enough to the main road for convenience but far enough away that you feel "away from it all".
I plan to go back again and I would certainly recommend this place.
