Recent Lake Nantahala Reviews

exotic and luxurious

5 of 5
multi leveled, full of natural light, deer horns and bear carvings. A spacious kitchen, a jukebox, fireplaces, best sheets EVER, wraparound balconies, lots of stovetop burners for family cooking. Everything is exquisitely appointed: details, no expense spared. We were 11 adults and 4 children and it was never crowded, or too noisy: so many places to wander off to. The lake is expansive and worth renting jet skis to get around. Totally private. A bit 'isolated' and regular cellphones don't work there, but the house phone works. WiFi! My only caution is 'getting there': one way ,twisting, unpaved mountain road with steep drop offs. Don't drive at night!

Couldn't Be Better - We really lucked out.

5 of 5
I was up visiting the area for thanksgiving. Our family lives in the area, and they mentioned this cabin was close by. So, we took a look online, and it looked good, so we booked it. Well, we couldn't tell from the pictures is that this place was perfect. Perfect. Top of the mountain, hot tub, great house kind of perfect. Its a long (almost half mile) journey up to the house from the road, but trust me, that trip up the 'driveway' is worth it. When you get to the top, you are rewarded with one of the most spectacular mountain views I can recall ever seeing. So besides the awesome views, the property is just perfect. Hot tub, fire pit (nice supply of firewood too), picnic table, grill (charcoal too). Inside, the good stuff continues. Gorgeous cabin inside...but it especially seemed like special attention was paid to anticipate my needs. Like washer & dryer, lots of towels, kitchen stuff, etc...it was all there. And really, while this shouldn't matter, in this day and age, it really does...Wifi. Pretty darn fast internet for the top of a mountain too. Anyway, we wouldn't hesitate to recommend this cabin to anyone. I know I'll be back soon, as this is my new go-to place in the mountains, without a doubt.

Truly a little slice of Heaven!

5 of 5
There were 17 people in our group and there was not one aspect of our week at Lakehaven that every one of us didn't thoroughly enjoy! The owners are a pleasure to deal with and very accommodating. This magnificent home was clean, comfortable, and stocked better than any other home we have rented. From the moment you step through the front door and see the picture perfect view of the lake, you will not stop trying to "take in" all that surrounds you. It is the most beautiful home on this amazing lake and the view of it from the water at night is simply a sight to see. We were up with the sun to get the most of our days and our morning coffee will never taste the same again without sitting on the balcony. We booked our stay for next year as we were leaving on our last day, so to say we love Lakehaven is truly an understatement. Thank you for sharing your "gift" with us. We were blessed beyond measure... The Clisby, Rudd, Davis, Wagner, and Larson Families
