Great summer getaway

4 of 5
We went up with our grandson for the weekend and then spent 2 more days alone. The house was as advertised but you can not describe the peaceful feeling of being so close to the creek. My grandson wore me out climbing the rocks and jumping in the water. I highly recommend the stay, the down side is going back to work and not constantly thinking why you left so soon.

Home Away From Home

5 of 5
We lost our home to a fire January 23rd of this year (2014). Our home was one driveway above the Happy Apple Retreat. During our state of shock at losing all our material things, we contacted the owners of the Happy Apple to see if we could stay in their farmhouse until we could get back into a home of our home. When you basically have nothing but the clothes on your back, it is a blessing to walk into a home where that is actually all you need. The owners told us to go to the house immediately and they would have someone there as soon as possible to turn on the water and the phone. (The house had been winterized, and with no guests for the winter, the phone service had been disconnected...but the heat was on, and in zero degree weather, it was a welcomed surprise.) The owners have graciously let us stay in their farmhouse until our new home is ready for us to move into. We should be leaving this cozy, wonderful, home away from home, by the end of July so someone else can experience the charm and unique character of this one-of-a-kind house. As to the owners, they will always have a special place in our hearts.

It's not just a Summer get away.........

5 of 5
My husband and I just returned from a nice weekend at your cabin and although we can see how much fun it would be there in the warmer months.... it made an excellent Winter get away as well. We loved the large stone fireplace and had a nice fire going while we settled in to read and watch TV in the comfortable living room. The river view was excellent, and yes the stream running under the porch can be heard. It's not just a Summer place.... we enjoyed our Winter visit.
