PEACEFUL AND BEAUTIFUL MOUNTAIN VACATION HOME

4 of 5
We enjoyed this cabin very much and loved the area! The cabin was neat and clean with plenty of towels, cookware etc. The house itself is well built and the furnishings and decor were up to date and comfortable. The large dining table was a plus as well as the hammock chairs on the back porch. There were 7 of us with room to spare. The maps and brochures that Ken provided were very helpful and the wifi available was good for any other research you might need. Our favorite restaurants were Storie Street Grill and Foggy Rock in Blowing Rock and Coyote Kitchen in Boone. Favorite sightseeing was Grandfather Mountain and Moses Cone mansion and property. Overall, the cabin, neighborhood, and surroundings are beautiful, peaceful and refreshing - perfect for a relaxing mountain vacation.

NOT EXACTLY AS PICTURED...BUT STILL LOVED IT!

4 of 5
We chose the Creekside Waterfalls Cabin because we were intrigued by it's footprint. We found the space surprisingly adequate. The setting was idyllic & the creek quite charming-though the main waterfall feature was damaged & the membrane torn, allowing water seepage through the earth instead of "over the falls"..causing silting in the creek & the pond looked unkempt. There were also a lot of broken tree limbs across creek. The flowerbeds were overgrown with grass & weeds, & needing tending. However the daffodils & phlox were charming. Yes, the house is close to the road, but we never found that to be an issue. There was hardly ever any traffic, maybe a car or truck every 10 minutes or more, & I rarely heard anything more than the creek or the birds so I was fully satisfied with the privacy. One of the footbridges over the creek had 3 rotten boards and one was cracked..(Those boards will need immediate attention) I loved the sweet front porch but totally would have preferred some rockers up there instead of bench. Inside house was cozy, sliding glass doors really opened the place up, as did the mirror effect which I thought was genius. Not hard to heat- warms up quick. We had a cold week there so didn't have to run A/C but once. The bed was THE most comfortable bed I've slept in for 30 years...I liked the darkness of the bedroom which made it peaceful. However- the sofa was terribly uncomfortable. Although it appeared clean and fairly new, it felt broken and collapsed in the middle. The hot tub was second only to the bed & such a great feature that I spent most lot of my time in it just hanging out and loving the woodsy setting. The grill was nice, we used the fire pit but there was no where to sit...designated chairs or benches would have been nice. All in all- I have to admit we fell in love and I almost teared up upon leaving...it felt more like home than my own did upon return. I am missing it still. I have a few small issues like the water (which was well water- I wish that they'd get a filter and softener) & the window over the sink seemed very dirty as did the one in the LR/ but again let me say we'd stay here for a month if we could...I will rent again and I will likely try to retire near here. It's a beautiful setting, a cozy house and a little attention in the yard, a new couch and repairing the pond & footbridge would be my recommendations. Thanks for the memories!

WE WENT TO SEE SNOW AND WE GOT IT! HAD AN AWESOME TIME!

5 of 5
What started as being an all-inclusive family vacation wound up being a romantic getaway for two. When we arrived in Boone, someone met us at a local grocery store to guide us up to the cabin for the first time. The trip up the mountain takes about 10 minutes. If you are coming during the winter, a four wheel drive vehicle is mandatory. We had snow almost every day and at times had over a foot in the yard and driveway. The roads are steep and narrow but well worth it. The house was beautiful. Our understanding was that the house was recently purchased by Jose and his family. The furnishings were all new, the house was spotless and the appliances modern. The gas fireplace heated the house quite well. Even though it was 10 degrees and below outside, the house was always toasty warm. My wife and I spent quite a bit of time on couch with a warm beverage just watching the snow. The views from the back of the house were amazing. Even though you are in Boone, the town is on the other side of the mountain (facing out the front door). When you look out the back, you see valleys and mountains that extend out into Tennessee. Of note, it is roughly 10-15 degrees cooler at the house than it is down in Boone. Dress WARM. The bathrooms were spacious and the Jacuzzi tub wonderful. The bedrooms were cozy and warm and the beds were very comfortable. The view out the master bedroom window will take your breath away on a clear day. There are plenty of local restaurants both in Boone and in Blowing Rock (try Foggy Rock Eatery and Pub, Storie Street Grille – both in Blowing Rock and the Sunrise Grill in Boone). Sugar Mountain and Hawk’s Nest are about 20-25 minutes away. If headed to Hawk’s Nest, call first to ensure they are open. Check out the Mast Country Store. Check out Doc’s Gem Mine. To sum up, we had a great time. Jose was very easy to deal with and prompt in his communications. His team of Ann and John were very helpful and responsive when we needed something. The pictures on VRBO are great but they don’t do this property justice. We plan on making this a yearly trip and I am already looking forward to our return.
