A great visit

5 of 5
It was an adorable house in a rural but not too remote neighborhood with a beautiful view. There was some grassy area inThe back for the children to play and a lovely fire pit and hot tub and lots of room at the dining table. Beds were comfortable and the TV watchers were enthralled with the giant TV. Seemed everyone in our cabin had a nice time from elderly to small child. I would recommend bringing safety gates for the stairs if you have children. Other than that, there are many amenities and it was close enough to the attractions of the area that we didn't do too much driving and we would def stay here again!

25th Reunion with college buddies

5 of 5
This is our second year renting the Gathering Place for our annual reunion with friends from Appalachain State University. This is without a doubt the BEST place we have rented for this event and Peggy Murray is a dream to work with in setting up our plans! The cabin is delightful and great for our group (this year 4 couples). Plenty of room for all; kitchen well stocked with crock pot and every other appliance you might need. Plenty of dishes. Bathrooms great; plenty of towels. Washer/dryer great too (we had been traveling for 2 weeks prior to arriving). Great deck and the weather was perfect for sitting outside. The colors on the trees on the mountain got better each day we were there; it was beautiful. Our check-out day turned into a semi-disaster for us - our rental car keys got lost (found after one couple got home 2 1/2 hrs after leaving, necessitating a return trip by them). The phone in the cabin was invaluable for that experience trying to figure out what we were going to do etc. Luckily we got out after our friends returned with the keys!! Peggy was helpful when the TV/dish wasn't fully working when we arrived; it was fixed within an hour. We will definitely return next year. We'll call Peggy, as soon as we have our dates!!! Thank you for a beautiful place to unite with our friends.

All we needed for a summer stay

5 of 5
We rented The View for four nights and five days for the summer reunion of a group of friends meeting in that North Carolina area. We were attracted to this property because we needed many beds to fit us all and because we wanted to stay near the mountains. The cabin surpassed our expectations. It is perched high in the Bostic region and gives you a great view of surrounding mountains from the side and back of the house, or from the comfortable hammock in the back. The property is kept in great condition and we found it clean and equipped to handle our group well, from having all the silverware and appliances we needed in the kitchen to strategically placed flat-screen TVs in the house's three levels. There were extra linens and towels and cleaning supplies available. The bedrooms were all spacious and the beds were comfortable. The bathrooms were clean. And, in our case, the lower floor game room became headquarters for the teens and children in our group. One worry we initially had was that it seemed to be located a long distance away from attractions and stores, but it is just close enough to small town centers and an hour away from some of the tourist attractions (this ended up being a good thing, since we wanted to be in the mountain environment rather than near the traffic and noise of tourist attractions). It was also great to just stay in the house one day and enjoy its comforts. There's no hot tub or water body near the property, but we hardly missed that. Cell phone and even GPS reception are spotty near the property, but there is wifi in the house. The view was stunning and our stay gave us the dose of mountain air that we went there looking for. The roads on the way up are curvy, but paved and in good condition. Also, we should mention that the owner and property manager (Larry) were courteous and helpful in their dealings with us. We liked it so much that we may stay there again in coming years.
