Thanksgiving family get-together

5 of 5
What a perfect house for our family holiday gathering at Thanksgiving. I cannot say enough about this lovely home. Every room was beautifully decorated, a gourmet kitchen that accommodated all our family chefs and sous chefs, a huge table for all of us to gather around with a view of the lake and hills. A well equipped house with everything from the kitchen to the game room with a theater room filled with lots of DVDs. There was plenty of room for the 10 of us. We so enjoyed roasting hotdogs and marshmallows outside at the fire pit with the grandgirls. Wonderful memories for our whole family. I would not hesitate to recommend this to others.

A cosy niche in the mountains

4 of 5
We loved the cabin and the location by the stream. The log fire was a huge plus as it was very cold when we arrived. The cabin had all the bedding you could possibly need and an ample supply of towels and linens. My only complaint was that the 2 basement bedrooms were extremely cold, even though there were portable heaters. The rest of the cabin was very cosy . We enjoyed a wonderful home cooked Thanksgiving meal at a small restaurant in Burnsville called the Regal Beagle. We also had terrific hot sandwiches and the best pumpkin bread ever from Ye Old country Amish store in Burnsville. Great places to visit were Roan mountain. (tons of snow). Another highlight of the cabin were the wild deer in the woods around the property. Definitely would recommend but if you sleep in the basement bedrooms bundle up.

A great visit

5 of 5
It was an adorable house in a rural but not too remote neighborhood with a beautiful view. There was some grassy area inThe back for the children to play and a lovely fire pit and hot tub and lots of room at the dining table. Beds were comfortable and the TV watchers were enthralled with the giant TV. Seemed everyone in our cabin had a nice time from elderly to small child. I would recommend bringing safety gates for the stairs if you have children. Other than that, there are many amenities and it was close enough to the attractions of the area that we didn't do too much driving and we would def stay here again!
