FAMILY LAKEATION

5 of 5
My family enjoyed a terrific week at the Lake James home. We had all the comforts of home (and then some) while being away, and were able to comfortably relax both in the home and on the water. Since there were grandchildren involved it was really nice for each family to have their own space for those necessary quiet and nap times. We loved spending time on the lake and the pontoon boat was perfect for getting us to the right, secluded spot. All ages will enjoy there time here. I would highly recommend this site for a good sized group and hope to be able to return there with my family in the future.

SIMPLY PERFECT!

5 of 5
My family and I had the most incredible experience with this beautiful property. We were greeted by a hand written note from the owner welcoming us, fresh flowers, and much appreciated groceries, which allowed us to settle for the evening before having to head out to the store! The house is so comfortable and clean, an abundance of towels and blankets, plenty of room yet still cozy! The property boasts two beautiful pastures, which my dogs loved, river frontage, where my little girls were able to play and tube, kayaks and bikes, the list goes on and on! The owner is just delightful, making sure that all of our needs were met. The area offers endless outdoor activities- we hiked, went for jogs, enjoyed downtown Boone, and explored charming downtown Blowing Rock. Great places to eat, and everyone is so welcoming! I can't say enough about this property and this area of North Carolina!

VERY RELAXING WEEKEND...

5 of 5
LOVE the creek! It's so clean that we could watch the trout swimming around! Love the sound of the water! Love that every single room has a view of the creek! Love the flat, grassy yard for the dogs. Loved that the porch wrapped on two sides of the house so you could always find some shade. The king size bed in the master was very comfortable and the sheets were nice! Everything you could possibly want in a kitchen was there! Very clean. We ate all our meals out on the deck. Wifi was good. TV was sufficient. It was smaller than we are used to but it didn't bother me at all. The proximity to the Parkway, to Boone, and to Blowing Rock was great! Elk Creek Road was fun to drive on. Very windy. It's close to the road but because there are so few cars, you feel like you are the only ones in the world. Very relaxing! Wish we had seen some more wildlife but we did see the trout and a heron that landed in the creek one morning. They even had toilet paper and paper towels there when we arrived. The rocker recliners were comfy and so were the rockers on the front porch. No regrets. Went motorcycle riding on the Parkway one day and horseback riding the next. Always came back by mid afternoon so we could enjoy the farmhouse and the creek.
