Upscale, yet warm, cozy! Spacious, yet intimate!

5 of 5
Beautifully unique and comfortably decorated. Photos are on point. Spacious upstairs and down. Loved the wrap around deck which allowed us to serve a wonderful breakfast outdoors and enjoy the wooded property. This home is so well equipped it exceeded our expectation. We were greeted by a delicious banana bread plate which set the tone for our stay... welcoming and comfortable. I'd definitely recommend this property to a friend. Staying here definitely trumps staying in a hotel, but requires a car to get to (nearby) restaurants and stores.

Great Relaxing Quiet Country Retreat

5 of 5
If you are looking for a safe, clean, comfortable, quiet cottage to relax, you should consider Laughing Brook Cottage. Both bedrooms contained comfortable queen beds and a full bathroom. The kitchen was fully equipped with all of the essentials.. We enjoyed the ferns, creek, and woods while walking around the gated grounds There are several small ponds on the property that can be accessed from moss covered paths. We enjoyed sitting on the porch with coffee in the morning and watching the blue birds and cardinals. The hummingbird feeder on the porch also attracted several visitors for us to enjoy. We liked going to sleep with the frogs croaking at night. Even though you feel you are way out in the country, you are really pretty close to the main attractions. We bought furniture in Jamestown at Furnitureland South. We enjoyed some spectacular views while driving on the Blue Ridge Parkway about two hours from the house. We also liked our visit to historic Old Salem. Lynn, the owner is very nice and friendly. While we were there, she shared some of her garden vegetables with us. She also surprised us with two additional chairs and a table so that all four of us could sit on the porch together. We would be glad to visit again and would recommend this cottage.
