A CLEAN & COMFORTABLE PLACE

5 of 5
In the early part of August, my husband and I felt privileged to have celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary here at this cabin. The cabin offered all the luxuries of a secluded, romantic getaway...and it was clean!! Although it was difficult at first to be without wi-fi and cell service, we grew to appreciate the peacefulness of being unconnected!! (Here’s a secret: Becky’s Country Store. which is about three miles down the road, is where you get cell service and free wi-fi so you can “plug yourself in” while you enjoy a delicious country breakfast.) If you’re looking for a place to get away from it all, here’s your place! You won’t be disappointed!

Rocky Bottom cabin is the definition for RELAXATION!!

5 of 5
I surprised my wife for our 5th wedding anniversary with a trip to Rocky Bottom cabin for a much needed getaway. As we drove down Redbud Lane, the pictures posted on the web of the cabin were all true!!! We parked in the back and we scoped out everything all around the cabin and then went inside! WOW!!!!! There are not enough words to describe such an exquisite place to withdraw from the fast-paced world and recharge your soul! This was our first cabin experience and it was definitely a great treat! The homemade bread was awesome and, as other reviewers stated, made excellent french toast in the morning. I had emailed Bob inquiring about this and that to see if those items would be supplied and as stated in the description of Rocky Bottom; everything is indeed supplied. One only needs to bring food, clothing, and toiletries. The biggest problem we could see with the cabin is that there was not enough time to do and enjoy everything. We only stayed two nights and we should have stayed 3 nights! LOL. If someone is looking to get off the grid for a couple of days then Rocky Bottom cabin is the place to go! Watch shooting stars on a clear night and take a refreshing dip in the pond next to it. We are already trying to find a date next year to go back! Thank you Bob and Gail for attention to detail in your decorating choices. It was AWESOME!

All we needed for a summer stay

5 of 5
We rented The View for four nights and five days for the summer reunion of a group of friends meeting in that North Carolina area. We were attracted to this property because we needed many beds to fit us all and because we wanted to stay near the mountains. The cabin surpassed our expectations. It is perched high in the Bostic region and gives you a great view of surrounding mountains from the side and back of the house, or from the comfortable hammock in the back. The property is kept in great condition and we found it clean and equipped to handle our group well, from having all the silverware and appliances we needed in the kitchen to strategically placed flat-screen TVs in the house's three levels. There were extra linens and towels and cleaning supplies available. The bedrooms were all spacious and the beds were comfortable. The bathrooms were clean. And, in our case, the lower floor game room became headquarters for the teens and children in our group. One worry we initially had was that it seemed to be located a long distance away from attractions and stores, but it is just close enough to small town centers and an hour away from some of the tourist attractions (this ended up being a good thing, since we wanted to be in the mountain environment rather than near the traffic and noise of tourist attractions). It was also great to just stay in the house one day and enjoy its comforts. There's no hot tub or water body near the property, but we hardly missed that. Cell phone and even GPS reception are spotty near the property, but there is wifi in the house. The view was stunning and our stay gave us the dose of mountain air that we went there looking for. The roads on the way up are curvy, but paved and in good condition. Also, we should mention that the owner and property manager (Larry) were courteous and helpful in their dealings with us. We liked it so much that we may stay there again in coming years.
