Outstanding!

5 of 5
Great location here-very close to town. The drive up the the ridge was all paved, and my 6 cylinder made it up fine. We were delighted in the cabin's architectural and interior design. The cabin was very clean and had everything we could possibly need. Margaret made sure that we were well taken care of. We enjoyed hiking, Willie's BBQ restaurant, and antique shopping during our visit. The most fun we had though was hanging around the cabin and taking in all the breathtaking views! I can't wait to stay here again. Thank you for a lovely getaway, Buttercup Haven!

Home Away from Home!

5 of 5
This was absolutely a sensational place to stay!!! It was very CLEAN and INVITING! From the décor to the fresh eggs and jam, it was definitely a relaxing and reviving vacation. The kids had a blast on the grounds, there was so much room for them to roam and hike with Dad. The location was wonderful, we were within an hour of every place we planned on going, the Great Smokey Mountain Railroad, and National Park as well as the Cataloochee Ski resort. When we went through the National Park, through to Gatlinburg, the signs showed to be 30 miles away, it took over an hour and a half to get through the park as the speed limit and icy wavy roads delay you, so if you plan on going through the park and ending up in Gatlinburg, you will want to do it early as we ended up going later in the day and it got dark, so we opted out of going through the National Park to get back, (no road lights, reception on phones or railings on roads :S ) which took us another route and over 2 and a half hours to get home in darkness!! other than that, the trip it self was wonderful. The Cabin was exceptional and there were no complaints by any one of the 6 of us... we would definitely come back to the same cabin in the future...

Wonderful memories are made here.

Just spent a fabulous week at Hidden Gem for Christmas with my family of ten. The home was so cozy and warm yet spacious for everyone to be comfortable. From the moment we arrived, we were all enchanted with this wonderful home. The views were spectacular, stepping on to the deck made you feel as if you were standing right on the mountain. Each bedroom was a sanctuary. The beds and linens were divine providing a most restful sleep after our busy days. The dinning room was large enough for us all to gather at one time and the kitchen was very well equipped to prepare our large meals. The welcoming gift basket was so thoughtful and enjoyed by all. The living room was so nice to gather in on Christmas morning around the fireplace. The family enjoyed the downstairs for hours at a time playing pool, games at the table, watching football on the large screen and some of the girls enjoyed the hot tub. The walking trail was a delight for the nature lovers in our family. All this before we even left for our daily adventures to Gatlinburg, Cherokee, Highlands, Clayton, Dillard and Franklin. The location enabled us to experience many things that the area has to offer, even got to see and play in the snow at Newfound Gap. Winter was great but know each season brings it's own beauty and new adventures. We would love to return again and see them all. Jerry and Rita were so accommodating and we thank you so much for opening your home to us and being a part of making this Christmas a wonderful memory for us all.
