The best of Edenton!

5 of 5
This little cottage has absolutely everything you could possibly need and more! The front porch is prefect for morning coffee, the interior is creatively decorated and furnished and the patio set in the back yard is great for dinner outside. It is located in the heart of the old Historic Mill Village where all the homes have been carefully restored. The neighborhood is quiet with tree lined streets, sidewalks and friendly neighbors sitting on their front porches. The cottage is only a short bike ride or walk from downtown where there are plenty places to eat and shop. The downtown park is home to a public marina, old lighthouse, museums kayak and more. There is also another park with a kayak launch. We depended solely on our bikes the entire time we were there and did not move the cars once. Highly recommended, definitely will be back soon!

Perfect girls getaway retreat!

5 of 5
My cousin and I just enjoyed a fantastic weekend in your beautiful home! It was exactly as pictured and included everything we could hope for and more. Such a quiet, peaceful, and secluded spot of paradise on the river! But only a short drive from the charming little waterfront town of Edenton, where we enjoyed a yummy lunch and shopped in all the cute little stores downtown! Susan, the owner, was a great pleasure to deal with and so welcoming and accommodating. We will definitely come back! Maybe next time we'll bring the hubbies!

Edenton is a great place, and the home was lovely.

Mother and I planned the trip, I had never heard of Edenton. We found the home, it was nice. There were no railings in the rear; mother needs a walker. So we used the front, which had two railings, one of which was rotted out at the bottom. The day we got there I learned my bathroom toilet leaked, and the next morning my bedroom light went out. Neither were fixed, however the broken microwave was replaced. Mother and I enjoyed the town, from the historic buildings, dating Victorian to Revolutionary. Our home was Victorian, and the interior was excellent, good furniture, great art, and modern amenities, If you like roaming around old places, Edenton is your place. For some reason, even though it is on the water, there was no boating. The main road in town has the business district which looks dated from the early to mid twentieth century, and we saw the only chain store downtown was a Sears that sold outdoor equipment. The rest of the businesses were all private individual. Our home was clean, and there were dishes everywhere in the kitchen. All in all, we found North Carolinans to be friendly, and the state appears to be well integrated. I would recommend this place and North Carolina.
