AWESOME PLACE TO STAY!!!

5 of 5
This was our first time to Emerald Isle and the first time our three families came together with Grandma to go on vacation, we all had so much fun! What a wonderful place to stay!! It was beautiful and so clean!!! It has all the comforts of home and more. There was plenty of room for our large group to spread out or all be together. It was great to have a well supplied kitchen and a nice grill to make our own meals, we only went out for dinner one time during our week stay. We loved being right there on the beach, sitting on the decks and seeing the beautiful ocean, watching the birds fly by and we even saw the dolphins playing a few times. The beach was great and was not crowded! It was nice to be within walking distance of the pier, and there was no charge to walk out onto it! We walked to Captain Willis to purchase fresh seafood, very good! We also enjoyed shopping at Emerald Isle Plantation Shopping Center, one of our favorite shops was Carteret Country Store. Nice things to buy, and it was very affordable! One day, part of our group went to the North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores and the other part of our group took a ferry to Shackleford Island, both places were enjoyed! I cannot say enough about how great Terry's home is and how wonderful she is to work with! She always got right back to me with answers to any questions I had and was always so pleasant and genuinely excited for us to be going on vacation. She was so helpful when I told her my brother in law has back problems and may need a massage while we were there. She contacted someone she knew at Emerald Isle and got a recommendation for Blessed Body Day Spa, 5 miles away. He went and saw Ashley. He said she did such a good job, it was going to be hard to go back to the person he gets a massage from at home. Thank you Terry for sharing your home with us!!!

Excellent choice for an oceanfront beach cottage.

This is the perfect beach cottage in every way. It was clean and sparkling when we arrived, everything worked, and we had no problems. The owners represented the cottage perfectly in their description. I was at first concerned because it is pet friendly and thought it might have a pet odor, but we could not tell in any way there had been pets—no odor, no pet hair. This home is tastefully decorated in a beach theme, and the entire home is bright and airy. If you are a couple going on vacation alone, it is perfect because everything you need is on one floor. If you are a family, the children can stay downstairs and have their own living area and TV. The kitchen is well-stocked with needed utensils, pots, and serving dishes. The deck is partially covered and partially sun and stars. And, most important, the house is literally right on the beach. My husband surf fishes and it was easy to watch him fish and call him in for meals. By the way, he caught lots of fish right in front of the cottage. The management and owners have made this cottage a special getaway place. You will not want for anything during your stay, and should you have any questions or issues while you are staying in this home, the management is a phone call away. We stayed at the cottage one week in September, 2013, and returned for another week at Thanksgiving. We enjoyed the sandwiches and salads at the Village Deli, an excellent crab boil at The Crab’s Claw, a breakfast buffet at Mike’s Place on Sunday, meals at Clawson’s 1905, and meals at Amos Mosquitos. These are all excellent places to eat. We purchased very fresh seafood from Willis’ Seafood in Salter Path. My husband rented a kayak, took lessons, and went fishing on the White Oak River nearby. The neighborhood streets are perfect for runners. If you are a photographer, the sunsets are beautiful from the deck. My husband has been coming to this beach for vacation for his entire life and states that this is the best place he has ever stayed. This home is one of the older brick homes on the island, but the remodeling and redecoration of the home makes it seem as if you are in a new modern home. This home offers a great location, fabulous interior decorating, cleanliness, great management and many activities. I can highly recommend this cottage.
