Remarkable Cottage

5 of 5
I love going to the beach! The sunroom is perfect for mornings and lets you enjoy the sunrise at the beach. The upstairs area is beautiful and is complete with a spacious dining table, a fully-equipped kitchen, a "living room" area, two bathrooms, a large bedroom and a deck that's perfect for viewing the ocean. Caribbean-style bedroom reminds you of being on an island and is furnished with tropical-style furniture and decorations. Kid's room is great- it has sturdy bunk beds and neat wall decor. Queen bedroom is spacious and relaxing- my favorite sleeping area. All of the bathrooms were sparkling clean at my arrival. Bottom "beachy" area has a poolside kitchen and stylishly decorated bedroom. The pool is a hit and the showers are useful. Hot tub is awesome for cold weather. Decks are remarkable for viewing the ocean- I have even seen wild ponies and even swans. I recommend this house greatly. I hope to return back to the beach soon!

Perfect Amenities

5 of 5
My wife and I vacation often, but this really surprised me with all the special features. The property has a feel of seclusion all it's own, while still being accessible to everything you need. The property has options for couples, families or multiple families. You get all the comforts of home, while being in your vacation destination. The home has all the high end features we weren't expecting to be available, for the price we paid. High end appliances, Smart TV's, wifi throughout the home, etc. On the other side, the property was great. We seen the wild horses daily, a family of foxes near by, wild birds on the beach and all in a very safe setting. All in all, a very pleasant experience that exceeded all of my expectations!

Summer Paw was gorgeous - inside and out.

5 of 5
I can't rave enough about Summer Paws! We've stayed in Corolla many times before but this was our first venture in to the Carova 4x4 area. It did not disappoint! I don't think I can ever vacation in the OBX area without staying in the 4x4 area. Talk about seclusion and peace! This house was immaculate and decorated beautifully. It's a perfect size for a small family group, not to mention pet friendly, which is hard to find in the OBX. The best part of the house was the screened in porch. No matter the weather, you can still enjoy getting fresh air and hearing the waves. You can see the ocean from the house which is always great. It's hard to say the screened in porch was the best part of the house because it offered so much. From the pool to the hot tub to the outside shower to the stainless steel appliances to the fully stocked kitchen to the wi-fi and flat screen with Dish, this house has all you could want. Laura, the property manager, was fantastic from the original booking till we checked out of Summer Paws. As we drove on the beach to reach the house for the first time, we took bets on how long it would take to see a wild horse. Most of us picked at least 24 hours. Within 5 minutes of turning onto the "road", to reach the house from the beach, we saw 4 horses. When you see horses in the pictures of the house, they actually get much closer than that on a daily basis. They could care less about humans. It's quite amazing! It's also very cool to have horses in your backyard and see tours coming by where people are paying extra money to view the horses. I loved seeing the tours go by. If you can rent out Summer Paws for a week, I would say jump at the chance, you won't be disappointed. It takes about a 1/2 hour to drive on the beach to reach the turn off for the house, so I would definitely recommend ordering groceries from deliverygenie.com so you don't have to go shopping and take the drive again as soon as you get there. That was the best decision, other than staying at Summer Paws.
