This was my family's first experience at the beach, so I searched and searched for months looking for the perfect location and place to stay. I was impressed with the positive reviews for APATB, so after much consideration, I went ahead and booked with them. I was not disappointed!
As soon as I booked, Jenn was very helpful in answering any questions I had. She was always very polite on phone and by email. We arrived late on Saturday night (10 hour drive), so my kids had to wait until morning to see the ocean. That first glimpse...the sounds and smells is something I will never forget.
My kids were super excited about "their" bedroom. I loved the decorations in the house so much I went out and bought my own decor at a local store to redo one of my bathrooms with a beach theme! The condo had everything we needed, and we loved sitting on the balcony watching the ocean, people and birds!
Things we did that we will never forget:
*Sunrise and sunset on the beach- sunrise...I have no words to describe it. Just beautiful... something to be experience by everyone! At night, my son discovered these little things lighting up in the sand like lightning bugs. They were so cool!
*Aquarium at Ft. Fisher- very family friendly place! My kids loved it!
*Wrightsville Beach Scenic Tour- we did a pirate treasure hunt for the kids. So cool! I recommend you pick up a coupon book though at Food Lion before you go. Saves you $5.
*Lazy Pirate and Pop's Diner... Pop's was a little overpriced, but good food. Lazy Pirate is just a very cool atmosphere.
The only issue we had was on the first day there, the lady from downstairs came knocking on the door saying water was leaking from the bathroom. She said she was going to call someone. Hours later, I called the property manager to find out if we could use the bathroom ( I didn't know what he needed to do). He was a little irritating. I couldn't tell if he was being sarcastic with me or if that was his personality, but I was insulted by his saying that the bathroom curtain is a bit "tricky" and that you have to make sure the curtain is inside the tub. That's not tricky, that's normal. I was pretty upset for awhile about the whole ordeal. Bill had called, too, about the situation and said he was sending someone over to recaulk. The guy came over and we never heard anything else about it. I was nervous the rest of the week though that it would leak again.
I calmed down and loved every minute! Go there!
