We spent the weekend in mid-December in this beautiful home and never wanted to leave! Everything was as advertised and then some! The house was well appointed and clean with all the comforts of home. The kitchen and baths were well stocked so that we lacked for nothing (other cabins provide the bare necessities). The eight of us, (three generations--grandparents, parents, and children) converged at the cabin Friday to ride the Polar Express and spend some quality time together before Christmas. The cabin was easy to find (even in the dark) when we arrived on Friday evening. Our hostess, Patti, made our arrival special for the grandchildren by leaving a basket of ornaments with a note asking them to help decorate the Christmas tree, a bag of toys, and Christmas movies. Everything was very clean and comfortable; there was plenty of seating and closet space; new appliances were first class. We enjoyed using the telescope (on the huge wrap around porch) to get an even better view of the spectacular night sky. We put the fire ring to use making memories and s'mores. The cabin literally glowed with warmth and hospitality. There were special touches in every room. Saturday morning, the mist on the mountains made for a spectacular view of the Smokies from the porch. I love the mountains and have stayed in many cabins, but I've found a new favorite as none compare to the warmth, space and welcome that we felt here. The cabin is unique in it's setting, it's structure, and it's comfort. Its in a community with a spring-fed pond and pavilion for picnics or gatherings. It is built from huge Canadian spruce logs--unique and stunning. Patti's quilts and collections were tucked here and there throughout. We hope to have more time on our next visit to soak in the claw foot tub and get to spend some time using the lake. We will definitely be repeat customers!!
