Absolutely breathtaking!

5 of 5
My entire family fell in love with North Carolina and nobody wanted to leave at the end of our vacation. This cabin managed to make you feel right at home immediately. Everything that we needed was available, or the emails that Ken sent helped us to be prepared. My only complaint is that our stay was too short!! He thought of everything in the emails with suggestions from bringing a flashlight for a late check in, to knowing how to reset the wifi if it wasn't working. Since we were not from the area, the emails with suggestions for restaurants, activities and places to visit were very helpful. I would have never thought to look at the Virginia Creeper Trails, but it was only an hour drive, and was one of my favorite parts of the trip. 17 mile bike ride? Heck yes, since it was mostly downhill, what a great day! Grandfather Mountain is a must visit as well, and was only a 30 min drive. It was very helpful to receive information about where the nearest grocery store and Walmart were as well. The cabin was amazing...I can't say enough. We all slept comfortably and enjoyed listening to the sounds of nature with the windows open. The view from the hot tub was worth the price of admission itself. We could spend time together watching TV or playing pool, or get some time away from each other if needed with all the space the cabin offered (14 hour car rides will do that!). Overall, I would highly recommend this property, it's very apparent Ken takes great care to ensure you are prepared for your stay and also follows up afterwards to ask about any concerns or ways he can make the experience better. This property is well taken care of and you can have great confidence that you will have a wonderful stay.

YES! YES! YES!

"Appalachian Dream" is very appropriately named! It all began on a winding road to the highest point of this area. And there sat this dream cabin with every amenity to meet the needs and pleasure of nine occupants ages 10 to 80 years. Where to begin? The beds were very comfy as was all the furniture, the kitchen overly equipped and the porches lent to a beautiful view that calmed our souls. For recreation at the cabin we played pool, ping pong was a hit and after a grilled dinner on the Weber the jacuzzi was a perfect relaxer. Those who were couch potatoes were content to watch one of the five tv's. Exploring the waterfalls throughout the area brought wondrous sights and sounds. Of course, restaurants were on the schedule along with zip lining, water rafting, horseback riding, touring a cavern, golf and antiquing. Mark, the owner was on call 24/7 and made sure everything was near perfect for us. Thank you, Mark and family, for this memorable 80th birthday celebration.j

We enjoyed our stay at The Gathering Place very much. They provided everything we needed for a comfortable and fun weekend. We will keep this cabin in mind the next time we are in the area and would recommend it to our friends visiting the Boone area.
