Wow! High expectations exceeded!

Oh my goodness. Where do I start? My husband and I stayed at Creekside for our 13 year anniversary and had the most amazing vacation ever. We've stayed at many rental cabins over the years and this is by far our absolute favorite. We loved the Leatherwood development with its sense of community and security yet when we were nestled in the cabin next to the creek we felt like we were a world away from everyone. There wasn't another cabin in sight. The bathroom alone would make me book this vacation rental again. You definitely felt like you were bathing and showering in nature. We are also really going to miss listening to the creek outside our bedroom putting us to sleep every night. The ponds in the community were really nice. We caught quite a few fish (crappie, bass, sunnies) in the catch and release ponds. We had the pleasure of meeting Myung when we were having an issue with the phone. She was very warm and inviting and got the issue taken care of quickly. This trip was worth the 7 hours we had to drive to get there. Counting the days until we can return!

Very relaxing weekend...

5 of 5
LOVE the creek! It's so clean that we could watch the trout swimming around! Love the sound of the water! Love that every single room has a view of the creek! Love the flat, grassy yard for the dogs. Loved that the porch wrapped on two sides of the house so you could always find some shade. The king size bed in the master was very comfortable and the sheets were nice! Everything you could possibly want in a kitchen was there! Very clean. We ate all our meals out on the deck. Wifi was good. TV was sufficient. It was smaller than we are used to but it didn't bother me at all. The proximity to the Parkway, to Boone, and to Blowing Rock was great! Elk Creek Road was fun to drive on. Very windy. It's close to the road but because there are so few cars, you feel like you are the only ones in the world. Very relaxing! Wish we had seen some more wildlife but we did see the trout and a heron that landed in the creek one morning. They even had toilet paper and paper towels there when we arrived. The rocker recliners were comfy and so were the rockers on the front porch. No regrets. Went motorcycle riding on the Parkway one day and horseback riding the next. Always came back by mid afternoon so we could enjoy the farmhouse and the creek.

Beautiful, Well-appointed home in a perfect location by the river

5 of 5
We spent 5 days at this house in mid-April 2014 and had a GREAT time. The house is beautiful, has great furniture, beds are extremely comfortable, and the bathrooms are immaculate. The house is clearly maintained and taken care of. It was very clean and we found no issues with the house. The house is in a gated community so it provided nice privacy and a sense of security for me and my family. The best part of the house was the big backyard, firepit and the Watauga river directly behind the house. We spent most of our time by the fire watching the water rush by while the kids played in a small stream directly next to the house that dumps into the river. The kid's room/loft upstairs was wonderful for our kids and it was nice having a TV in every bedroom. The owner, Chris, was extremely helpful in all communications and made sure we were well taken care of! We would absolutely come back to this house any time we choose to stay near Boone. The location was great and was an easy 5-10 minute drive to either Boone or Valle Crucis.
