A Little Piece of Paradise

5 of 5
Last weekend, I had the distinct pleasure of retreating to the private, peaceful sanctuary of Owl's Roost in Black Mountain, NC. This gorgeous, log home was immaculately clean with gleaming wood floors; comfy and tasteful furniture; and was equipped with every amenity for which I could have hoped! The floor plan of this home allowed for plenty of privacy when needed, but the spacious common living area and child-friendly basement space allowed our group to enjoy quality time together as well! After a scrumptious dinner at the Black Mountain Bistro, the owner of the property warmly welcomed us and tended to our every need! Breakfast at the Black Mountain Biscuit Company filled our spirits as well as our bellies with the largest, most savory homemade biscuits we've ever tasted! A mid-afternoon hike along the ridge provided breathtaking views and refreshing, crisp mountain breezes. The highlight meal of our trip however, was dinner at the Straightaway Cafe - a true delight which engaged all of our senses with comfortable tables, live music, and savory flavors of high country comfort foods! If you're searching for the perfect spot for a family getaway, small group retreat, or a cozy place to cuddle up to someone special, I highly recommend Owl's Roost as your place to stay; savor the special memories you're sure to make! We will definitely be back!

Exceptional!!

This was our first visit to High Rock rentals and we are quite impressed. The location is perfect. You feel so secluded (which is what we wanted) but, are close to all amenities you could ask for. Plus, it is close to Asheville and the Chimney Rock area. The view and the land is amazing. The hiking trails are also such a nice added touch. The owners did a great job creating this relaxing environment. Mike Roseman was very accommodating and easy to work with. We will definitely be back. I would recommend this cabin and any other cabins at High Rock Rentals.

This property is awesome; such a treasure.

This property is everything it is represented to be and so much more. We arrived from Florida, Ohio, DC, Chapel Hill and Germany to a warm and inviting Lodge. The HunniHome Lodge is equipped with everything you can think of to enjoy time in the mountains with family and friends. Whether it was enjoying a hot cup of coffee rocking on the back porch overlooking the mountains or sitting comfortably in front of the warm fireplace, this was a great setting to ring in the New Year. It is especially nice to have such easy access to local attractions like Asheville, NC (microbrew capital of the East) and Black Mountain where the people are so friendly. We were able to enjoy plenty of nice hiking including just walking the roads within the Preserve after dark. We saw deer and turkey and despite keeping an open eye, did not come across any bears. The accommodations were really nice for our group of 9 adults. There is plenty of flexibility for sleeping in the upstairs game room or by taking the twin mattresses into the cinema room. Every room is comfortably decorated leaving guests with a real feel for the mountains. The house is well supplied with puzzles, games and books if all you want to do is kick back and relax. The Lodge owners were so responsive to our needs. Always available to answer questions and make sure that our stay in their home was comfortable. We were fortunate to be able to spend a week in their home and to ring in the New Year in such a beautiful and relaxing setting. Thank you for sharing your little piece of serenity.
