Very well-maintained cabin in Black Mountain, just minutes from downtown Black Mountain and Camp Ridgcrest. Hot tub was very nice and sparkling clean! The cabin is further up the mountain than where we've stayed previously, so being from Florida the drive up was a bit nerve-racking the first few times, but in the end we got the hang of it. Would have been quite nervous to have driven up to the cabin in poor weather conditions or during the winter when the roads are icy. Washer and dryer worked great - especially when washing our son's dirty/stinky clothes after having been at camp for weeks!
Our only complaint was that the wi-fi and cable t.v. would cut in and out quite often, and there were a few times especially in the evenings when the cable went out completly - especially in the upstars bedroom. Also, we had no phone service in the cabin whatsoever - either landline or cell phone service, so be aware that you may be completely cut off from everyone. We have ATT for our cell phone provider, and we had coverage about 1/2 way down the mountain into town - so about 5 minutes after leaving the cabin we would have cell phone coverage. The landline was not working either - we were told it was likely because they had had a bad thunderstorm the night before we arrived. Unfortunately, they were not able to fix it while we were there. So this may be a consideration for you if you are uncomfortable with not having telephone service, or tele-commute and need phone service to work from the cabin.
Other than that, this is a beautiful cabin in a great, peaceful location, very close to downtown Black Mountain, and 20-25 minutes to downtown Asheville.
