“Everything you want and expect and then some”

5 of 5
Our family stayed at the Manor for a week from 7/26 to 8/2. The house is clean and large and accommodated 12 people and 2 small dogs (5 children). The family with 4 children stayed on the lower level where they had bunk beds for the boys, a quiet corner for the baby, and plenty of toys and books in the playroom. The 2 young girls in the group shared the Princess Room and loved it. All the adults had comfortable rooms. The house is equipped to an unbelievable extent - almost anything you may need or want is there. It was fun opening doors and drawers to find what Stephanie has provided - we especially appreciated the baby beds, stroller, and high chair as the family members traveling from Alabama did not have to bring those items (more room in their van for fun stuff). The grounds are super - it was wonderful to have room to walk the little dogs without leaving the property. The lake is fun to see - a large koi, lots of little fish, and a snapping turtle who likes burned toast. We enjoyed the fire pit for roasting hot dogs and marshmallows and sitting there to watch the young ones play on the play set and run around the large grounds - there was even a nice trail around the lake that was just right for a small dog walk. The bird watchers in the group enjoyed the green heron who came every day and the occasional kingfisher. On the whole, you could not find a better place to rent for a family vacation. The price is quite reasonable for such a well equipped place to use as a base for visiting attractions in the area. Give Stephanie a call and see if she can fit in your group for a great experience!

A perfect secluded hideaway with a perfect scenic view.

5 of 5
I took my wife Asheville for a surprise weekend getaway and booked this cabin hoping for the best...my expectations were surpassed by far. The drive is a quicker-than-you think jaunt from downtown, and perfectly nestled atop a spectacular mountain view. The correspondence with the owner were quick and easy, giving a sense of ease when booking. The rooms are spacious and decorated in such a quaint and enjoyable manner. What an amazing place! Highly recommended and already planning our return visit. Cheers!

Perfect family getaway

5 of 5
We loved everything about this home. From the large living space with open kitchen and dining area, to the covered porch with the Big Green Egg (that we kept lit each night), to the large playroom (perfect for three young boys), and finally to the nearby dock where we parked our rented pontoon boat, this home was the perfect family getaway with a beautiful view. After one big trip to the grocery store, we never left the property or Lake James until our vacation ended. Thank you for opening your gracious home to us.
