Lakehouse With a Million dollar View

5 of 5
We have stayed in many homes on the Lake over the last 20 years, and the Enchanted Cottage is one of the most beautiful we have visited. It is truly the epitome of a vintage lake home.. The view is unsurpassed. The property was clean and well maintained. Debbie the caretaker and her son were most attentive and kind. We always love a visit to Chimney Rock. We would recommend this property to anyone wanting to enjoy the lake., except for anyone who has trouble navigating steps, as there are many to get to house. Overall, the Enchanted Cottage is certainly just that, Enchanted.

Nice, pet friendly cottage on the lake

5 of 5
My family of 3 and our family dog had a great stay at this cottage. The owner, Mara, is very nice and accommodating. We had a minor issue during our stay, and Mara was very quick to remedy the situation. The cottage is as descried...very quaint cottage feel with modern kitchen/baths. The dock is wonderful for swimming and fishing. Note that if you have a dog that swims, the only way to get them out is pulling them up on the platform/dock. (The dock doesn't have stair access or is there access from a 'beach'. But of course there is a ladder for us humans to use! There were plenty of life-vests and floats to use along with the kayak and paddle board. We loved taking daily paddles all over the lake. My son loved all the games in the house and on the porch. As pretty standard, they do charge a pet fee which I don't recall seeing listed on the ad. (But I wasn't too surprised when we got our quote, since it is pretty standard...just wanted to mention.) Some of the things we did include: LOTS of swimming and paddles since it was hot the week of our stay; Fishing; Trip to Chimney Rock; Dinner at Tree Tops in the Lodge of Lake Lure was excellent. It's a 3 course meal, that we would highly recommend; A trip to the Biltmore and Asheville.; My son wants to return to Lake Lure yearly! Thanks Mara and Frank for sharing your cottage.

Great, relaxing place to stay outside of Asheville

5 of 5
My wife, 2 dogs, and I had the pleasure of staying in this cottage while vacationing in the Asheville area. The cottage was clean and included everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. The small koi pond with the small waterfall out front was great along with the lake with small deck for fishing in back! It's about 25 mins away from downtown Asheville and a short drive to Hendersonville and Brevard. It's also conveniently located to a gas station and grocery store, but far away from everything to make you feel like you're out in the country! Thanks Jeff for a great place to stay while on vacation!
