This is an awesome place were you can relax.

5 of 5
Our family had a memorable time during our stay at this breathtaking beach. The house caretakers are a wonderful family who make sure you are well-taken care off and assist you in a minute's call. We are so grateful for their kindness and special attention to Marcelo and his family. We loved the mornings waking up to the sounds of the sea and having dinner with the most impressive sunsets you can experience. Food was deliciously prepared at nearby restaurants like Alta Mar, our favorite with personalized attention. We all relaxed and loved our stay to the fullest. A paradise to go back soon again.

Excellent Beach House!

5 of 5
This house is beautiful. We were a large group of 22 year olds staying here for a few days before staying in Managua for the remainder of our trip. On our way from the airport we picked up a lot of groceries for the cooks. The cooks were flat out amazing. When we arrived at the house, they helped us unload our car full of groceries and unpacked and arranged everything in the kitchen. They made us some of the best meals we had while we were in Nicaragua, and if you have the cooks during your stay ask them to make you ceviche. It is some of the best any of us have ever had. During our trip, Jose (the groundskeeper) and the cooks (who also cleaned for us) were amazing and extremely helpful. The beach is very private and since we had so many of us we organized a big game of stickball once the sand cooled down enough in the evening. If you need extra groceries, there is a small supermarket about 15 min away from the house and it has all of your basic items and needs. The fish in Pochomil is also delicious. We bought both snapper and barracuda from the fish market and both were amazing. The owner is extremely helpful and gave us very detailed directions on how to get to the house. He also helped us obtain surfboards and go spear fishing. There is also an ice cream man that stops by every day! It is a beautiful house and one that I would recommend to anyone going to Nicaragua. Some of the reviews have said the ocean was too rough (not true, it is pretty normal surf), and criticized the fact that there is a loss of power. To my knowledge there are rolling blackouts throughout Nicaragua and that is not the owners fault, the house also has a generator onsite that kicks in when the power goes out. Also, who cares if the power goes out for an hour, the beach and pool are very fun. It is a great beach house, with a beautiful pool, very nice accommodations, great private beach and an amazing staff!!

Counting the Days Until Our Return

5 of 5
This place is just awesome! Finding the home is an adventure, but once we arrived it was just perfect! Carlos (the caretaker) is so friendly and accommodating! The house is a great place to relax when you're recouping from the rum, swing in the many hammocks, or read by the pool. Once you're ready for the beach, it is literally RIGHT THERE! Walking in either direction is simply gorgeous, and can take you to some amazing local places for food, drink, and entertainment. The house itself is nice, with a/c in every room, and a place to unpack if you're staying for more than a few days. The kitchen is great, providing basic necessities and a nice fridge and stove. To be honest, we didn't spend much time in the family room, but only because the view outside is breathtaking and worth spending every minute outside. This time our trip was more romantic, but we are definitely planning on taking the children next year! I can't wait to go experience Casa Del Mar again!!!
