Awesome Ocean Front Escape!!

5 of 5
My husband and I were lucky enough to spent 5 nights in this awesome cliff front casa in January. We were pleasantly surprised to see that it was even nicer in person than it appears in the photos. There is an open floor plan, high ceilings, generously sized kitchen and cute kitchen bar. Just outside of the kitchen is a covered patio area with bar style seating, table and a hammock. A great place to enjoy an afternoon snack while watching the surf crash into rocky shore below. We loved the covered patio area on the main level. The rocking chairs were a great place to chill morning, day or night. There was a nice breeze and plenty of shade. I think we spent a total of 5 minutes inside the living room during our stay! The best was falling asleep to the sound of crashing waves every night. We hadn't slept better in months! We spent afternoons in the pool and at Redonda Bay beach. The beach was never crowded and we easily found shade covered lounge chairs. We did a morning fishing trip with Pastori Tours and caught 7 tuna and a mackerel. They were a great crew, very professional and friendly. We also did an ATV tour with them. It was nothing extreme but it was a good time. We had the Aqua restaurant cook our fresh fish for dinner one evening. That was very good. We also ate twice at Ale's in Gigante. It was a new "fine dining" restaurant in town and the menu was limited but the food was excellent! We also went to Gigante Bay and hung out with the young hostel crowd. Good food and great low key atmosphere. They even had live music one night which was a lot of fun! A quick word to thank Nica Retreats for being so helpful to us on arrival. We'd had a flat tire (with no spare) between Rivas and Tola and had no choice but to take a cab to check in. Claudia made arrangements to get my husband back to Rivas to purchase two tires and replace the flat. We really appreciated their help!! All and all it was another great trip to Nicaragua. Our first stay at Casa Ezulwini but surely not our last! We can't wait to go back!

Perfect Family Reunion!

5 of 5
You know when vacation feels like vacation ... Then you instantly know you made right choice!! We couldn't have picked a better place to spend time with family and have a family reunion. The time spent in this home was spectacular. The views were amazing and breathtaking. The pool, the hammocks, the house were all sssssooo perfect! Originally it was only going to be 11 of us but we ended up taking 15 people. The more the merrier! And the best thing is that this house is so perfectly arranged that it didn't feel that all 15 of us were there. Bill was very quick to respond to my emails. We didn't get to meet Grace or Sergio during our stay but the security guards on the property answered all our questions and were beyond friendly. We stayed up past midnight all the nights and we would see the guard constantly walking around and checking. The kitchen is fully equipped. We were not missing anything. The supermarket as well as quite a few restaurants are about a 5 min drive away. Great food in the beachside restaurants. You are also a short walk/hike (for those of us out of shape!) to Aqua Wellness resort. The restaurant there was amazing! They even deliver up to the house! There are also plenty of activities to do both at the resort and in town. The secluded beach was very beautiful. We had some choppy water and could not enjoy it to its fullest but our kids were more than happy to jump back in the pool! The house was very very clean! The TV in the living room area is a Smart TV and the kids enjoyed Netflix while the adults enjoyed the balcony with some drinks. The top balcony was perfect to catch some sun, do some reading and provide an even better view of Bahia Gigante! The ocean sounds were so relaxing all day and all night! We are definitely going back next year!

great honeymoon

5 of 5
My wife and I stayed for 9 days. After a LOT of research we settled on this condo. We hit jackpot. Matt was very easy to work with and gave us great information. View and location are great. We drove around and looked at the hotels we had considered and confirmed we made a good decision. Eyleen the maid cooked and cleaned. Doesn't speak english but my spanish was good enough to communicate. Surf was a little small, but water was nice. We rented a car and were glad we did. Nice develpoment, but you will want to tour around. Magnicient rock, Rancho Santana and Ometepe Island were our favorites. Matt's buddy Zack can help get you almost anything. He coordinated our trip to Ometepe and took us out on his boat spearfishing. He is a local but speaks good english. Power went out a few times but they have backup car batteries to run the lights and fan. Small ant problem that went away. Matt offered to have somone come fix it ASAP but we didn't need it. Matt will give you a list of the great resuturants around. I probably wouldn't eat at the local resturant Don Eloy's again. People are nice, but it's Kind of expensive and the food isn't great. Same with the NSR surf shop. Great selection of boards, but Mark at Nica Xtreeme adventures would have given a better deal. Motercycles to rent fo $10/hour from him too. To sum up. Cool owner great place. Highly recommended
