Awesome Ocean Front Escape!!

5 of 5
My husband and I were lucky enough to spent 5 nights in this awesome cliff front casa in January. We were pleasantly surprised to see that it was even nicer in person than it appears in the photos. There is an open floor plan, high ceilings, generously sized kitchen and cute kitchen bar. Just outside of the kitchen is a covered patio area with bar style seating, table and a hammock. A great place to enjoy an afternoon snack while watching the surf crash into rocky shore below. We loved the covered patio area on the main level. The rocking chairs were a great place to chill morning, day or night. There was a nice breeze and plenty of shade. I think we spent a total of 5 minutes inside the living room during our stay! The best was falling asleep to the sound of crashing waves every night. We hadn't slept better in months! We spent afternoons in the pool and at Redonda Bay beach. The beach was never crowded and we easily found shade covered lounge chairs. We did a morning fishing trip with Pastori Tours and caught 7 tuna and a mackerel. They were a great crew, very professional and friendly. We also did an ATV tour with them. It was nothing extreme but it was a good time. We had the Aqua restaurant cook our fresh fish for dinner one evening. That was very good. We also ate twice at Ale's in Gigante. It was a new "fine dining" restaurant in town and the menu was limited but the food was excellent! We also went to Gigante Bay and hung out with the young hostel crowd. Good food and great low key atmosphere. They even had live music one night which was a lot of fun! A quick word to thank Nica Retreats for being so helpful to us on arrival. We'd had a flat tire (with no spare) between Rivas and Tola and had no choice but to take a cab to check in. Claudia made arrangements to get my husband back to Rivas to purchase two tires and replace the flat. We really appreciated their help!! All and all it was another great trip to Nicaragua. Our first stay at Casa Ezulwini but surely not our last! We can't wait to go back!

A very relaxing holiday.

5 of 5
Our holiday here was fantastic. The house and views were amazing, the house was not only beautiful but functioned really well (nothing broke down).Lots of great beach towels,a massage table where we had a few great massages organized by Oscar. The pool was used a lot and was kept clean every day. I can't praise Oscar enough, he helped organize fishing trips etc ,bought anything that we needed e.g milk, bread. We did not rent a car but walked around locally. We found that we did not miss having a car, we took a boat trip to Juan del Sur for the day--very fun saw lots of Dolfins. If you are thinking of not hiring a car there are two things to keep in mind. One, you need to do huge shop for meat etc as soon as you arrive. As Oscar was collecting us he took us to a huge grocery store. Two. If you are driving I would not do this drive from the airport to the house in the dark. (There is a Western hotel by the airport to stay there till morning.) Below the house there is a wonderful semi private beach which is shared with Aqua Wellness Spa. You can eat in there lovely beachside restaurant. There are very few people. In the next bay is the village of Giante a 15 mins walk which I loved doing. We only ate once here at lunch time and had some great fish. The store is cute but not much in it, You can get beer but no wine. We brought our wine duty free in Cost Rica. There is a great walk and view up the Giants Foot. We saw lots of monkeys and parrots from the house. We will definitely come back and I have already recommend this amazing house to our friends.
