Delightful stay at casa Ezulwini

5 of 5
After a stressful period we needed a break and were fortunate to find it in ideal settings at casa Ezulwini. As a hideaway it is perfect yet we never felt isolated, thanks to the excellent organization of the resort. However the Pacific ocean is the closest neighbor roaring on the rocks under the house, hosting the most beautiful sunsets that we saw comfortably seated on the terrace and bathing the fairy tale beach where we regularly went swimming snorkeling or kayaking. We immediately felt confortable in Casa Ezulwini a roomy colonial style house with all desired comfort, above the Pacific just high enough to feel protected. A sort of pirate home decorated with refined local art. We were there in mid November, clear blue sky with the occasional short rainfalls as the rainy season had just finished. Mapping the stars in pristine nights was an endless pleasure. We admired the luxuriant green nature in a real tropical climate where for instance reading in the cool pool over the Pacific really was a relaxing delight. The beach restaurant at Redonda Bay deserves attention. It has always been perfectly up to expectations, for example we had a delicious beef filet with real tasty garden vegetables. Leisure, ocean activities and enjoying the quietness are not the only option. We were fortunate to see Granada, Ometepe islands, one of the world sanctuaries, Masaya and saw the mouth of an active volcano. But Nicaragua is also its people. The country has a strong identity stemming from its history and a government seeking a national consensus associating enterprises and societal values to progress. There, foreign enterprises as well as tourists have a role to play, if only by supporting the locals, for instance Octavio, the local guide is really interesting and resourceful.

Perfect Family Reunion!

5 of 5
You know when vacation feels like vacation ... Then you instantly know you made right choice!! We couldn't have picked a better place to spend time with family and have a family reunion. The time spent in this home was spectacular. The views were amazing and breathtaking. The pool, the hammocks, the house were all sssssooo perfect! Originally it was only going to be 11 of us but we ended up taking 15 people. The more the merrier! And the best thing is that this house is so perfectly arranged that it didn't feel that all 15 of us were there. Bill was very quick to respond to my emails. We didn't get to meet Grace or Sergio during our stay but the security guards on the property answered all our questions and were beyond friendly. We stayed up past midnight all the nights and we would see the guard constantly walking around and checking. The kitchen is fully equipped. We were not missing anything. The supermarket as well as quite a few restaurants are about a 5 min drive away. Great food in the beachside restaurants. You are also a short walk/hike (for those of us out of shape!) to Aqua Wellness resort. The restaurant there was amazing! They even deliver up to the house! There are also plenty of activities to do both at the resort and in town. The secluded beach was very beautiful. We had some choppy water and could not enjoy it to its fullest but our kids were more than happy to jump back in the pool! The house was very very clean! The TV in the living room area is a Smart TV and the kids enjoyed Netflix while the adults enjoyed the balcony with some drinks. The top balcony was perfect to catch some sun, do some reading and provide an even better view of Bahia Gigante! The ocean sounds were so relaxing all day and all night! We are definitely going back next year!

great honeymoon

5 of 5
My wife and I stayed for 9 days. After a LOT of research we settled on this condo. We hit jackpot. Matt was very easy to work with and gave us great information. View and location are great. We drove around and looked at the hotels we had considered and confirmed we made a good decision. Eyleen the maid cooked and cleaned. Doesn't speak english but my spanish was good enough to communicate. Surf was a little small, but water was nice. We rented a car and were glad we did. Nice develpoment, but you will want to tour around. Magnicient rock, Rancho Santana and Ometepe Island were our favorites. Matt's buddy Zack can help get you almost anything. He coordinated our trip to Ometepe and took us out on his boat spearfishing. He is a local but speaks good english. Power went out a few times but they have backup car batteries to run the lights and fan. Small ant problem that went away. Matt offered to have somone come fix it ASAP but we didn't need it. Matt will give you a list of the great resuturants around. I probably wouldn't eat at the local resturant Don Eloy's again. People are nice, but it's Kind of expensive and the food isn't great. Same with the NSR surf shop. Great selection of boards, but Mark at Nica Xtreeme adventures would have given a better deal. Motercycles to rent fo $10/hour from him too. To sum up. Cool owner great place. Highly recommended
