One of my favorite places to stay

5 of 5
I do a lot of travel, especially to the Catskills, and I do not stay anywhere else. I have spent Christmas week in this home and it's one of the best memories I have. The owner is pleasant and diligent with regards to cleanliness and hospitality. Her rental homes reflect this. Whether it's ski season or hiking season, you won't find a better location or a comfier, cozier home. It is central to several well-known ski areas, and the hiking trails in the Catskills are unmatched on the east coast (in my opinion). The trails are the main reason I go so often there--and I've only stayed at this owner's homes. Her use of knick knacks, her seasonally appropriate bedding, smokers, grills, lights--all make for a true home away from home, and I would bet a "better than" home away from home for some. I cannot recommend any better lodging than this.

The Perfect Weekend Getaway

5 of 5
We were 2 couples and a dog. The house was perfect for us with everything we needed: 2 comfy and spacious bedrooms, fully stocked kitchen with large table, enough space in the common area for us to hang around, and a deck with a BBQ. Everything looked new and updated, clean, and well-care for. The house is very private and being a log cabin gave it a very authentic feel. We loved the activities in the area; one day we went mountain biking, another we went for a 5hr hike. The owners were very gracious and lovely to work with. We would definitely go again and highly recommend it.

Great fly fishing headquarters

5 of 5
It was the perfect location for the opening of trout season. There's a creek that runs right through town --- within walking distance. If you have a NY Reservoir permit, the Gilboa Reservoir is only a few miles down the road (It's about six miles long and 80ft deep in some spots)!. I also fished the Catskill creek and took a day trip to the legendary Esopus creek (I guess about a 1/2 hour drive). I'll be back in the summer for more fishing and hiking. Ella, the owner, was a lot of help and keeps the cabin super clean. I would definitely recommend it, especially for the price!
