        WINTER ESCAPE

        5 of 5
My family and I like to get away the week between Christmas and the New Year for some skiing and relaxtion. We were so happy with this cabin and the location and could not have asked for more. First of all, the elements cooperated and we had snow for skiing. Windham Mountain is a simple, short distance from the cabin, which is nice after skiing all day and not having to deal with a long drive. The cabin itself was immaculate, warm and cozy, which is exactly what we were hoping for. The heated floors spoiled us while we were there and kept everything so warm. The wood burining fireplace got plenty of use and the way in which the cabin is set up allowed us all to be together in a perfect space. We are a family of three and then had another family of three with us for a couple of days. The six of us fit perfectly. There was a beautiful new entry way just built, which was wonderful for our ski equipment and wet boots and saved all of the mess from going inside the living space. The owner, Robin, could not have been more helpful and accommodating, as she even had her snow removal people make sure the driveway and road was sufficiently plowed while we were there due to the snow we got. She was always available to answer any questions and did so promptly. We would definitely return and recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a realxing and beautiful place in the Windahm area.

        GREAT FLY FISHING HEADQUARTERS

        5 of 5
It was the perfect location for the opening of trout season. There's a creek that runs right through town --- within walking distance. If you have a NY Reservoir permit, the Gilboa Reservoir is only a few miles down the road (It's about six miles long and 80ft deep in some spots)!. I also fished the Catskill creek and took a day trip to the legendary Esopus creek (I guess about a 1/2 hour drive). I'll be back in the summer for more fishing and hiking. Ella, the owner, was a lot of help and keeps the cabin super clean. I would definitely recommend it, especially for the price!
