        Gorgeous, serene and comfortable!

        5 of 5
The listing description was perfect for the house and amenities that are included but there is no way to be able to prepare yourself for the time you will have if you stay in this house. The property is well-maintained and clean, the owners are very eco-friendly as well which is a plus. Even though they own 18 acres of land, none of it has been cut down and hunting isn't even allowed. This house was perfect for my boyfriend and I to stay for a weekend. We went with the wish of wanting a weekend just to ourselves with no disturbances and that is what we got! You won't have to worry about any sort of problems with the house or forgetting something because the homeowners take care of practically everything for you. It was so nice to be able to sit back and relax for a weekend. The views of the mountain all day, every day were beautiful. Even on the day that it rained the clouds made the scenery just as beautiful. Although the house has three bedrooms, it's easy to turn it into a place for two people. Plus, there is 3G signal there (I have Verizon), so you can use your phone if you really must but no one will tell on you if you say that you don't have signal for the weekend. There is not a single thing I would change about this house. While we stayed there we walked all the way around the "block" (7 miles) on accident but didn't even mind because the views are always breathtaking. We also went down to where the covered bridge was and swam for hours. We didn't go out to eat at all but we did travel to Lake Placid one day just to canoe for a bit and being on that lake is just as breathtaking. PLEASE RENT THIS HOUSE! I promise you won't regret it. You won't want to leave!

        Cozy, clean ski chalet

        5 of 5
This was the perfect place to stay for skiing at Whiteface. The open floor plan made it a pleasure to have friends over for dinner, with the dining area, kitchen and living room on the first level. The wood burning stove created so much heat, it was plenty warm without turning on the heat upstairs. The four bedrooms downstairs had comfortable beds, clean sheets and hardwood floors that ensure a good night's sleep even for those with allergies. We had dinner in Lake Placid one night, about 15 min. drive...the downtown area is adorable and charming. We would not stay anywhere else, if we return to the area. I highly recommend this rental home to anyone looking to visit the area.

        Perfect for Ironman weekend

        5 of 5
Just spent a week at this cottage in Wilimington and loved it! Clean, spacious and perfect for both a small family or a large group (we ranged from 4 to 12 people over the weekend). Great access to Plattsburgh, Lake Placid, Ausable Forks, Whiteface Mt and for Ironman spectators- you're just a quick 5 minute drive to the Ironman bike course in Wilmington and 10 min. to the Ausable Forks out-and-back portion of the bike. I really appreciate all the small touches at the cottage- tons of clean towels, sheets and blankets, books and dvd's for all ages, kitchen and bathroom essentials are well stocked and the private setting of the cottage made this ideal for our stay. Thanks so much, we'll be back again soon.
