        A true 5 star stay!

        5 of 5
We just loved the Carriage House. It was clean and comfortable and Robert and his family were genuinely gracious hosts. They were so generous! Everything we needed (and more) was there for us to enjoy. The accommodation was luxurious but affordable, a really winning combination in our books. And it was convenient to the Finger Lakes area, so we were able to enjoy day trips. We loved learning about the history of the area, and were especially impressed with Sonnenberg Mansion & Gardens and Seward House, as well as Syracuse's own Erie Canal Museum. The guides were excellent, and the locals friendly. It wasn't far to Watkin's Glen State Park, which really is a spectacular site. (Lots of walking, so bring water and wear comfy shoes.) There are also some lovely vineyards in the Finger Lakes, and Climbing Bines brewery, which was lots of fun. Again, really friendly people, gorgeous scenery and a cool vibe. It was such a treat to return to our cozy Carriage House at the end of each eventful day, open a bottle of New York State wine, prepare a delicious meal and then sit outside in the courtyard and relax. And the scones in the morning: we never tasted scones like them. Perfect! Affordable luxury and great hosts. What more could you want?
