Heaven on Earth

5 of 5
We have been coming to the Farmhouse for a few years now – first as a couple and then with a family. It is an Amazing place that really takes you away from it all, the noise and congestions of a city and allows you to relax, to reflect, to read, to write, to paint, to sculpt... We look forward to coming here all year long and mixing our summer days with delicious Finger Lake wines and splashing in the pond. And we always come back relaxed, restored, rejuvenated. Living in a busy world, it’s hard to believe that places like this still exist and I am very grateful to the Owner for sharing it with us and am writing in hope that others will discover and enjoy it too. Wake up early in the morning and run to the pond, where water is like steamed milk. The spider webs sparkling in the wild flowers, like a fine lace. In the house, these is an interesting library. Cozy up on a comfy couch or on a veranda, daydreaming and looking out on the rolling hills. Look outside through the big dining room window, hanging like a nature painting, and you will see a rabbit. Venture to a forest grown over farm fields and you will find an old pick-up truck or a rusty combine, now resting peacefully, try to guess their age. Here you will see more deer than people. And at dusk, the fields are aglow with fireflies. It’s magical and can you almost expect to see a Unicorn. The Farmhouse is truly a Home away from Home. It offers modern-day comfort seamlessly complementing its original character. You feel that it’s deeply loved and cared for. It’s immaculately clean and spacious. And the Owner is Pleasure! The Guestbook in the Farmhouse is filled with happy visitors, many returning. And should you want to escape the solitude, there is always lots to do and see in the beautiful Finger Lakes region, with charming towns and friendly people, festivals and local wines and cheeses, waterfalls and nature trails.

The 'Lake House' really is a great homeaway

5 of 5
In June of 2014, we were fortunate to be able to rent this great home. The entire experience was wonderful, in part, because it is so well-managed. Everything was clean and well stocked with all the supplies as they are listed under the amenities and accommodations provided. We were able to begin our ‘Lake House’ vacation immediately with no concern about cleaning, making beds, washing dishes, etc. Our focus was on boating, fishing, swimming, and sitting on the deck using the comfortable furniture including the many chairs and table with an umbrella. There was ample room for family members who stopped by for a visit to join us in enjoying the water activities and beautiful view. Fishing off the deck and pier as well as kayaking were enjoyed by many people of all ages. In addition to the available equipment which included life jackets of all sizes for the lake activities, we also appreciated the extras such as the games, the telescope, and binoculars. Furthermore, we enjoyed some other extra amenities including reading material such as novels, information about the area, and a framed history of Findley Lake. Of course, as mentioned by others, the ice cream shop across the street was a favorite attraction which was used frequently by children, teenagers, and adults alike. The terrific time we had at Findley Lake enabled us to have beautiful summer memories in 2014 and we are looking forward to having many more in July of 2015. One additional thought---although we have not spent time at the ‘Lake House’ during other seasons, my guess is that the fireplace and a frozen lake as well as nearby Peek’n Peak Resort would result in a great vacation filled with the opportunity for many wonderful winter activities and experiences. This home even in the winter had a beautiful view.

We are from Texas, and our family is in New York State. We had our Holiday dinner here and there were many people. It was cozy, comfortable, and gave our family a wonderful Christmas together. We would definitely come back here.
