Fantastic base for your New York adventure

5 of 5
This was our first use of VRBO, so naturally we were a little uncertain initially about how the process worked. Everything turned out just fine and we were totally satisfied with our month in this great studio apartment. Leslie was very helpful, timely and thoughtful in all her communications before the booking and on the couple of occasions we contacted her during our stay. The apartment was exactly as described, clean, very well maintained, good TV, great stove top, comfy queen bed and an excellent shower/bath. A copy of the New York Times delivered to the door daily was a real bonus. The safe and quiet location is excellent, 2 minutes away from a relaxing stroll in Riverside Park. Less than a 5 minute walk to 96th St Station where you have access to both local and express services. Busy Times Square and the Theatre district is only 2 Express stops away, if that's your thing. You can walk east 5 blocks to Central Park or catch the frequent M96 crosstown bus (on 96th St) to Central Park West if you're in a hurry. Local places we'd recommend highly are Barney Greengrass on 86th & Amsterdam for breakfast and Vai restaurant on Amsterdam near 81st for dinner. Three delicious dining options a little further afield are Marc Forgione in Tribeca, St Anselm in Williamsburg and Blue Ribbon Brasserie in SoHo. We also recommend City Rover Walks as a great way to deepen your understanding of different areas. Finally a big THANK YOU to Leslie for providing a thoroughly reliable and trusting experience. We would not hesitate to return and we will highly recommend this apartment to our friends and family.

Clean, roomy, comfortable apt with great location

5 of 5
We can only echo the positive reviews posted above. We stayed at Jody and Gavin's apartment on multiple occasions beginning Jan. 2010 until our kids (and grandkids) moved to NJ earlier this year. Jody and Gavin were extremely accommodating to the point that we felt part of their family. The apartment is exactly as described: roomy, comfortable, very clean, and well-maintained. The location is ideal, less than a block to Central Park and only three blocks to Riverside Park and the Hudson River. There are many top-notich restaurants close by. Whole Foods, as mentioned by other reviewers, is less than a block away. We found street parking on almost all of our visits. (I think I had to use a garage only once, and that was because we came during a heavy snow.) We definitely recommend this apartment to anyone planning an extended visit to the city. We'd come back if our kids were still in Manhattan.
