Great Apartment

5 of 5
The apartment is very comfortable and quiet. The bed is very comfortable as well. The location is great and near the 79th St crosstown bus and the 6 line subway. The neighborhood is very nice and safe. The photos of the apartment are very accurate.

Staying in NY for the Marathon

4 of 5
I ran the New York Marathon and wanted to stay in close proximity to Central Park for easy access to the apartment after the run. It was a little further then I had anticipated because the run finishes at the south end of the park but we were close enough to the subway for quick access to transportation. When we arrived, we called Michael to let him know we were at LaGuardia and would be there as soon as possible. When we arrived the doorman greeted us and knew that we were to meet Mike upstairs. He handed us the key to the apartment and we went upstairs. Mike met us there a couple minutes later. The apartment was nicely lit and he told us what we needed to know and left. We appreciated that he told us if we needed anything he was only floors up away from us and to feel free to contact him if we needed anything. The Master Bedroom is very spacious and although the main bathroom is attached to the Master Bedroom, it was extremely handy to have the half bath. It was only myself, my husband and his sister, but having the extra bathroom made all the difference in the world. As it worked out, we didn't need to ask Mike anything and were able to navigate ourselves around the city without issue. The one thing that was odd is when we would tell the cab drivers our location they were extremely puzzled as to our location...after the marathon when I could barely walk, we got in a cab, told the driver our exact location and he proceeded to tell us it was an impossible address....then when we told him the side street address he knew where to drop us off....at any rate, we didn't want to get in an argument with him as it was nearly impossible to find a cab after the marathon. The apartment is as noted and we really enjoyed it. I would say just as a means of constructive criticism is that it would be nice to have some basic amenities like salt, pepper, sugar and even coffee in the apartment. There are local markets nearby but we arrived late so it would be nice to have had those things as we didn't want to have to buy salt, pepper and sugar when you can hardly buy those in small quantities. The other thing that was missing was face cloths, there were plenty of towels but no face cloths...otherwise, the place was as we expected....Thank you Michael and Jennifer.....Vernon, BC Canada

Great place on the Upper East Side

5 of 5
This apartment was exactly as advertised, and exactly what I wanted. I stayed for a total of two months while I was working in the city. I loved the location, because it allowed me to get away from the craziness of Midtown and be in a real neighborhood - but still be surrounded by good food and plenty of amenities. My commute to Times Square only took 20-30 minutes (including the five-minute walk to the 6), depending on the trains. The apartment itself was very clean. The twin beds in the bedroom are a bit uncomfortable, but the futons are quite cozy. Plenty of storage space, even with two months' worth of clothes and supplies. The kitchen is well-stocked; I had no problem cooking for myself. The building is relatively quiet, and there's almost no street noise. Internet service is a bit spotty, but cell service is good. The manager was very responsive any time I had a question or a problem. If you want a "real" NYC stay, whether for a weekend or a week or a few months, I would absolutely recommend this place.
