This was a fantastic find that was the centerpiece of making our family trip to NYC a great success. We had two adults, two teens, and a preteen in our party, so ease of transportation and safety getting around were our primary considerations. Even though we arrived late on Monday night, the short walk from the subway felt safe; as we would learn later after knowing where we were going, it was even easier and safer.
This apartment was our home base for touring all over the city: lower Manhattan, Rockefeller Center, Times Square, Greenwich Village and NYU via subway, and Central Park and the museum mile on foot. The central location and ease to transit just made everything simple and made us feel at home very quickly. Michael met us at the apartment, gave us the tour, and made us feel very welcome.
The apartment itself was also perfect for our needs: the two pullout beds in the living area were ideal for our teens, and my younger daughter was very comfortable on the pullout in the main bedroom with me and my wife. Having two bathrooms was also a vital component to us getting out and sightseeing in a timely manner, and the washer and dryer was greatly appreciated, as we were traveling very light and needed some laundry done. The place was very clean and the photos are very accurate to what you will find.
While we were out in other parts of the city for most of our dining, there was convenient food quite nearby: there is a grocery store catercorner to the apartment, pizza down the street (in every direction really--we went to Nick's two blocks up, but you can't go wrong), Chinese everywhere (we chose Pick Up Stix, but again, there are tons of choices!), and the fact that Dunkin Donuts is literally 10 feet from the front door makes it heck of a lot easier to convince teens to get up and get going!
If you are planning a family trip to New York City, this is the perfect location. I highly recommend this rental!
