Beautiful home!

5 of 5
Our family spent a wonderful week here using the watercraft, fire pit, and other amenities. The house is large, beautifully maintained, and well stocked. The owner makes himself available whenever necessary. Excellent location for a quiet, relaxing vacation.

Heaven?

5 of 5
When is the last time you went on vacation and thought, “Somehow I woke up in heaven.” What does heaven look like, you might be wondering? Well, there’s plenty of great art on the walls, for one thing. The owner is a Devi (Indian for goddess) and her beautiful visage graces many of her self-portraits. The cutlery is shiny and top notch. The views are out of this world, literally every window is framed by lush foliage and craggy peaks. The floor is boho industrial chic, and as for the floor of the shower? Zen wooden slats with a calming Japanese feel. Let the water run softly around your feet and into the abyss. The TV room is more temple than TV room (there’s even a brass ceremonial bell) with thoughtfully rolled yoga mats and thoughtfully stacked blocks. Likewise the laundry room is stacked with sheets and towels. Mid-century-modernity will be yours with touches like the Eames shell chairs and the Herman Miller Nelson bench, also featuring stylish slats. The mountains are all around, including when you lie by the cute pool. Dive in or wade, the choice is yours. Is that a bird? There are plenty to watch!

Great stay in large, comfy, arty home

5 of 5
We rented the house for a month so that we could spend a number of long weekends there and it was just perfect for us. It's incredibly comfortable and filled with art. There are many different living room areas, so tons of places to curl up with a good book (and lots of good books on hand to read). There's even a napping bed on the first floor, which we used quite a bit. It would be a great place to go with two couples or two generations of family -- lots of room to spread out and feel privacy (the two main bedrooms are a ways from each other and each has its own full bath). In the back, there's a huge deck, a beautiful lawn, and a field of wildflowers. It feels very private and bucolic. The kitchen is roomy and well-stocked (though there's a large toaster oven in lieu of an oven so don't plan to do a lot of baking). Nearly every night, we cooked meats and vegetables we had bought at the many farmers markets and farm stands in the area. We usually used the charcoal grill (and range as necessary) and it's some of the best vacation food I've ever had. The owners were great to work with and they provide a comprehensive welcome book with advice about area food shopping, outdoor activities (we went on some lovely hikes) and more. We miss the house but I'm sure we'll be back.
