Heaven in the Berkshires

5 of 5
Look no further - the Black River House is sure to please. Nestled in the woods about 15 mins from Jiminy Peak is the ultimate place to return to after a day on the slopes. Tastefully decorated this house offers both comfort and the perfect amount of luxury -- supple leather couches, a beautiful wood kitchen counter, modern appliances and two wood stoves that build enough heat to easily warm the expansive floor plan. You'll find plenty of space and something for everyone, from a gorgeous lakeside view to pool and air hockey tables to a hot tub to unwind and relax in under the stars. For the adventurous there is plenty of interesting property for snowshoeing where you are likely to run into the locals... a beaver at the nearby dam and otters taking a dip. Kid and adult friendly... the ultimate rural retreat from the hustle and bustle of life. You will wonder why you didn't stay longer!

Heaven on Earth

Listing is accurate and does not do this property justice. Over the last 4 years we have stayed in the farmhouse or the modern ranch for much of August. The houses are clean, tastefully furnished and beautifully decorated. Simply put: they are comfortable, well-equipped and fun to stay in. Grounds, view and pool are all drop-dead gorgeous. Located in farm country: nearby rolling pastures abound. Owners could not be nicer or more thoughtful, responsive to any issue without being intrusive. Easy access to Hudson, Williamstown and general Berkshire area. We look forward to returning year after year.

Grandma's First Vacation

5 of 5
My family and I recently stayed at the farm. The 5 of us had ample room to move around and the sleeping arrangements were perfect. My mother-in-law had never been out of Texas. The relaxing nature of this place literally made it difficult for her to leave. She wants to come here every year. My husband, daughter and I sat outside and star-gazed for hours. John was a great host. I unfortunately fell ill and had to visit the ER. John rearranged the cleaning schedule to allow me extra time to rest. He even printed out our boarding passes when we were leaving. I would like to emphasize how much room there is inside the farm house. There is a full-size washer/dryer, two nice sized bathrooms, ample closet space. There wasn't anything I needed that wasn't in this farmhouse. It is home away from home without the traffic, noise, and frantic pace of city life. Give it a try, you will enjoy. We did!!!
