Great launching pad

4 of 5
This was an ideal launching spot for our first trip to NYC. This home was a much better price than staying in the city. Home was very quiet and comfortable which was a nice change from the loud bustling city. Three block (10 minute) walk to free Staten Island ferry (25 minute ride). We had a beautiful waterfront view of the city. We didn't mind the commute each day into the city and appreciated free parking on the street in front of the house the whole time we were there - another savings. Ferry docks at South Ferry Terminal which makes it very easy to get around the city via the subway. Buy a pass at the terminal and you are good to go. Salem Church nearby is awesome too if you are looking for a place to worship on the island. Owner VERY helpful and quickly responded to all our questions.

charming apartment conversion on the ground floor

5 of 5
I've stayed at a lot of vrbo.com places. This is by far one of the cutest as well as maintained properties I've rented. Cynthia and her husband we both quite hospitable and quite helpful with my stay. Loved the botero prints everywhere. A little slice of Italy in the middle of staten isand. Being a 1/4 block from Starbucks was a huge bonus too. Will rent again on my next trip.

FANTASTIC ACCOMMODATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!

4 of 5
My husband and I spent a fabulous week in this spacious, very clean and quiet apartment. The owners had left us the essentials for breakfast our first day and we were grateful for the coffee, baguette, orange juice and milk they had waiting. The (free) ferry is just a 10 minute walk from the house and it runs every 1/2 hour for 24 hours/day. We enjoyed passing in front of the Statue of Liberty at different times of the day - especially at sunset. One thing we learned during our stay, is that there is a bus (#42 or #52) that picks you up at the ferry station and drops you very close to the apartment when you get back from the city. You can use your NYC Metro Card on these buses. This was especially nice after walking around the city all day, if you're too tired to tackle the (uphill) walk home at the end of the day. We would both like to return as soon as possible and highly recommend it to travelers who want to be close to Manhattan but without all the hustle, bustle, noise and expense. Guy & Alexis
