All seven of my family members were very impressed with the beautiful house on Fennell Street. Every one of us has an interest in art and home decorating, and we were bowled over by the gorgeous, thoughtful design that went into making this vacation house such a tranquil, eye-pleasing, and very usable place.
We were able to enjoy meals together in the large and well-applianced kitchen and slept like babies in the comfortable beds. This house is immaculately clean, and furnished with a great blend of contemporary and antique furniture - all of it useful. My one little quibble is that the lamps could be brighter - we are all readers, and could have used a bit more wattage both at bedside and in the living room.
The owners are friendly and very responsive to questions, solving an issue with the air conditioning very promptly. We loved our mini-vacation there and would definitely stay there again. Skaneateles has many good restaurants, a variety of shops, and, of course, the beautiful lake. If you're curious about the history of some of the buildings, definitely take the lake cruise - the captain is a real resource for local history, and has a great sense of humor.
Highly recommended to the discerning vacationer!
