Heavenly!

5 of 5
This place is a true treasure. Incredibly comfortable home with everything we could need on hand. Ceiling fans in every room make the place so cool and breezy that we barely needed the a/c despite the heat. I've never rented a house before and went with very low expectations- brought my own towels, sheets, utensils, plates, and needed none of it as everything was clean and comfortable and lovely. The screened-in porch was a delight. My kids had a blast watching the deer in the early morning and early evening, and the tire swing was a HUGE bonus and total surprise! My daughter lost her mind with joy to discover that. and us grownups relished the hammock and the plentiful and very comfy chairs and sofas. The pool was perfect- my crew has little tolerance for cold water so the heater was fantastic and the hot tub another treat. The views of the massive and gorgeous property were spectacular and there were wonderful views from every room. I can't stop raving about this house and the property and the location was fantastic as well. Nothing was more than 5 minutes away. We fell in love with Whale's Tale for mini golf and I am still dreaming about Commander Cody's fried scallops. I grew up going to the Hamptons and had never been to Shelter Island and was thrilled to experience this treasure- beautiful and even on Labor Day weekend not a crowd or single incident of traffic to be found. Celina was extremely helpful, very responsive to questions and returned my security deposit within one day! Only thing to note is that the laundry and second bathroom are in the basement, and that was a bit tricky to find- it's the door in the screened in porch! I can't recommend this property enough and am already plotting my next stay here. Thank you so much, Celina and Tom for making our stay just glorious!

Charming Cottage and Terrific Owners

5 of 5
We had a wonderful multi-week stay here. The house is as charming as advertised. We swam off the dock every day. Also kept my 20' sailboat at the dock and had great fun sailing in Gardner's bay. Topping it all off, the owners were a delight to deal with as we settled in and got our bearings. If you're considering this property give it a go, you'll be glad you did!

What a Beautiful House, Property and Beach

5 of 5
We were looking for a modern house near the water that would accommodate our family of 8. After days of searching we came across Shelter Island Hideaway. The pictures were amazing, but we wanted to make sure before booking our stay. We called the owner, David, he was extremely accommodating, even drove out form NYC to meet my husband and I at the house.Needless to say, we quickly fell in love with the property and the house. The pool, perfect, just steps from the 2 huge outdoor areas so we could keep an eyer on the kids at all times. The yard, beautifully landscaped with flowers and trees and completely enclosed also gave us peace of mind knowing the kids could go no where without our knowledge. Speaking of the property, we (and especially the kids) just loved the groundskeeper, Mariano helped us with a few things and he kept the property and house immaculate. The beach was lovely, most spectacular sunsets every night, easy to get to in just minutes and very few people. We also visited Sunset Beach, it was great with the restaurant and bar there and we got to see so many huge boats and even few TV celebs we recognized. The Island is lovely, the restaurants great and a quick ferry ride and we drove over to Mantauk for those huge waves. We were intrigued by the boat that they have, my husband went once with the boys for fishing, and then I went with the girls for a cruse around the Hamptons. We have already booked our next week and have friends that have booked time at the cute cottage next door too, how fun! Love, love love this place and highly recommend Shelter Island Hideaway!
