So beautiful!!!

5 of 5
When we pulled up to the property, I was blown away. It was so picturesque! The gatehouse itself was so adorable, loaded with everything we may have needed for the weekend. It was exactly as described, we could not have been more pleased. It was clean and there were even chocolates on the bed pillows. The house was stocked with plenty of wood so we could stay warm. The staff was so accommodating, we could not have asked for better service. I would definitely recommend Witten Pond, we already booked another stay!

Great off-the-grid retreat

5 of 5
What an amazing little respite from the world. When my husband and I wanted to get off the grid and away from NYC with our dog, we headed to this quaint cabin and enjoyed three days of bliss with no wifi and no cell service (I lost cell service more than two miles from the house...this is seriously off-the-grid). I thought that this would be difficult for someone like me (I'm always tied to my cell phone and the Internet), but it wound up being the best thing for us. We read into the night and fell asleep early and watched the stars under the skylight in the bedroom. We cooked in the very simple kitchen and barbecued on the grill before making s'mores. The cabin was clean, very simple and no frills. Perfect for us. Swimming in the river down the driveway, lots of nature, and peace and quiet in the middle of the woods -- that's what this place has to offer. True bliss. And when we wanted a taste of "civilization" we headed to Saugerties, Woodstock and the main strip in Phoenicia (not even 10 minutes away by car). Thank you to our hosts and lovely Phoenicia for a peaceful and restorative 4th of July weekend.
