A BEAUTIFUL SITE!!

5 of 5
Robyn’s place on Lake Seneca was a real delight!! We spent four glorious days alongside the lake and touring the vineyards. It is within easy driving distance of vineyards and grocery (in Watkins Glen) as well as local attractions. The weather was perfect and we enjoyed campfires at the house on several cool evenings. Robyn has thoughtfully furnished the house with virtually all the necessities for cooking and preparing meals for the eight of us. The house itself is thoughtfully laid out and quite practical. We did not use the bunkhouse but it was well appointed and comfortable. The setting of the house in the trees alongside the lake is remarkable in itself, but descending through the vineyards to reach the house adds a lovely touch. We definitely plan on staying at Robyn’s again!! Thanks Robyn!!

GREAT HOME FOR A GROUP GETAWAY

4 of 5
We booked the Hector Chalet for our weekend in the Fingerlakes celebrating my husband's 40th birthday. We had a group including us and 3 other couples. The house was a perfect fit for our needs. There's plenty of room. And, the house is obviously well cared for...very clean and well-maintained. The owner was so helpful throughout the process of booking our trip and was kind enough to allow us some flexibility on our check-in time on Friday. The only drawback I can think of is that the basement section of the house had a slight musty odor when we first arrived. However, we came shortly after there had been a significant amount of rainfall in the area so it may have just been a matter of the dampness that can be expected afterwards. The dehumidifier was running when we arrived. And we no longer noticed the odor at all by the next day. Be sure to walk down to the property's lake access. The owners provided very detailed directions in the welcome binder so you should be able to find it with no problem...and it was a lovely walk. Also, the deck is huge. We enjoyed sitting out there Saturday late afternoon after we had returned from some wine tastings. It was a great spot just to relax before heading out to dinner that night. The deck would be perfect for eating 'al fresco' as well. If we had been staying longer we definitely would have planned a night to stay in and do just that. Speaking of eating, the house is just a few minutes drive from the Stone Cat Cafe. Several people had recommended it to us for dinner. Without that recommendation we would have just driven on by because it didn't look like much from the outside. But, if you're looking for delicious, local, organic cuisine with generous portions it's the place for you. We greatly enjoyed our stay at the Hector Chalet. We would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay on Seneca Lake.

BEAUTIFUL LAKESIDE HOME.

5 of 5
This is a beautiful, well-kept lakeside home. The owner called me three weeks before our rental to let us know they had water damage from a broken pipe and the kitchen and part of the living room would not be available to us. The owner went above and beyond to ensure that we had everything else that we could possibly need. The home was clean and welcoming, and the eleven of us staying there for my daughter's wedding had ample space for privacy and lots of gathering spots for family time. The first night we entertained the bride-to-be and her groom for pizza on the deck. The weather cooperated and the setting sun provided stunning views. I cannot say enough about this property or the owner.
