Excellent Weekend Away

5 of 5
My family and I had a wonderful weekend at the Streamside Cottage. We found the home as represented in the photos, very comfortable and extremely well-appointed. We had everything we needed and more. Barbara and Bob seem to have thought of everything and made sure our stay was exceptional, responding to our few requests within minutes. They were thoughtful enough to also have a "welcome package" for the dog. Our toddler very much enjoyed running around in the yard, exploring by the creek, climbing the steps of the porch, running around the house and bath-time in the claw foot tub. Our dog just loved being outdoors and playing in the rushing stream. My husband and I enjoyed the quiet time away from NYC and the jumps to Saugerties and Woodstock. Overall a wonderful experience. Thank you also for the welcome gifts. I would recommend this property for a weekend or even an extended stay. Hope you have as wonderful a time as we did.

Quiet getaway and conveniently located

5 of 5
We chose this cottage because of its convenient location near Woodstock and a lot of great hiking trails. The owners Joe and Jen were very welcoming and accommodating- they even printed something out for me that I had forgotten to bring. The cottage is comfortable and has some great creature comforts like a fireplace, WiFi and flat-screen TVs. Our dog also love running around the fenced-in yard.

Loved This Home!

5 of 5
We just got back from spending an early November weekend at this home with our daughter and her husband. The house is so light and bright, even on a cloudy day! You are surrounded by nature and as my husband said, it's like living in a tree house. The view is gorgeous from inside and outside on all the many decks and through the many, many large windows indoors. One evening it was warmish and Hubby and I spent a long time standing on the highest deck watching the twinkling stars and almost full moon as big puffy clouds passed over them while inhaling the clean, fresh, pine scented air. It was a glorious experience! On the other hand, the first two nights we were there were in the 30s with gusting winds of 40 mph. Yet, we were all warm and cozy because of the fabulous pellet stove that is provided for your use while you are there. It is backed up with electric heat in every room, as well, but it was not even necessary to use it. We all left being sold on pellet stoves. Giancarlo is a wonderful host and is very helpful, but most of all he is welcoming and makes you feel as though it is "your place" to enjoy while you're there. After a day out you always feel as though you're coming home at night, and what cozy, comfy evenings they were for us all. The town is wonderful and for a 60s girl like myself it is a heartwarming place to be. Peace, love and tie-dye abound. :) But, I have to say the surrounding nature in the area eclipses all else. What a beautiful place The Catskills are! It was a welcome escape from the crowded suburbia that we all live in. There is skiing in the winter and zip lining, tubing in the rivers, local swimming holes, and hiking everywhere, plus much more to enjoy the rest of the year. We highly recommend a Woodstock vacation and this is the house to do it in!! Thank you Giancarlo for a wonderful time!
