Outstanding property!!!!

5 of 5
We were a group of 10 gathering for a ski weekend. 5 minutes to Whiteface, 10-15 to Lake Placid. The house was very comfortable and perfectly laid out to accommodate a large group. The amenities were perfect for a ski weekend, but I am sure they would be appreciated in any season. It's great to walk into a rental and find it nicer than you expected, and in this case the pictures truly do not do the property justice. The owners and rental agency were most accommodating, and the house was completely clean upon our arrival. Many thanks to Todd and Kim for making this property available. We will be back - often.

The best!

5 of 5
Lynn and Greg's place is big and very well laid out, in a perfect location that's a walking distance to the cute town but also tucked away in private woods. They are generous renters, in that they've made the house feel like a home. It has books and games on the shelves, unlike some rentals that are barren. We had a great time in the outdoor hot tub, playing music with their excellent sound system and playing games next to the fire, they have a big tv that our guys played some serious mariokart with (grown men, haha). The heating units are very convenient and easy, comfortable all around. Everything you'd need to cook with is supplied in the kitchen. We ordered the most amazing Indian food, I wish I could remember the name of the restaurant but I bet there's only one in town anyway so you could just google it if you wanted. I hope they get the same respect from renters that they provide. Thank you so much!

Perfect Catksills home for homebodies and skiiers!

4 of 5
Patricia was a very gracious and accommodating host. Although we never met her, her on-site managers, Deb and Don, aka the house neighbors were helpful but never intrusive. We saw Don as we were getting ready for our Saturday ski excursion in the morning and he offered to bring us firewood from the shed for us to use in the living room fire stove. Don also offered great advice when we asked for hiking/walking paths (the five acres behind the house and across the Freehold airport to the creek). Patricia was also easy to reach via e-mail and very responsive closer to the day/week of our trip. She also sent very detailed and informative check-in/check-out instructions, house amenities, and suggested dining/shopping/recreational activities in the vicinity. The house itself had a lot of character. We especially loved the kitchen with its retro finishes (retro microwave, rustic cabinets, etc.). We bought a lot of groceries and cooked up a storm for brunches and dinners so having a dishwasher and a big, modern refrigerator was essential. Half our group decided to stay indoors and bake while the other half went skiing, so having access to every kitchen tool and appliance and basic baking ingredients and spices came very handy! We also appreciated the many boardgames and Wii game system! It kept the homebodies entertained. The bedrooms were adequate, given that we were pushing the accommodations limit with our group of 13. The master bedroom and the two double beds room were the most spacious, but the two private double rooms were fine for the couples in our group. Although, you might want to open a window overnight as it does get stuffy/overheated! We were also able to fit in extra air mattresses in the double beds' room and in the living room. The bathrooms were unique, although the water pressure in the rainfall shower could be better. It did not help that we had such a large group but everyone took longer showers because of the weak water pressure. There is also limited hot water in the spa bathroom in the entry floor. Some of us girls wanted to try soaking in the spa tub but found the hot water would turn to cold after a few seconds. The shower stalls in both bathrooms are also surprisingly narrow, despite the bathroom being a decent size. But they were both well-stocked with single use/travel size toiletries. We loved the house for our ski trip (Windham was only a 25 min drive!) We're interested in returning for a summer trip to swim in the creek!
