Wonderful stay!

5 of 5
This centrally located apartment was a lovely place to stay in NYC! The pictures and the descriptions barely do the place justice. It is a clean, well-appointed place that we hope to visit again. The corner windows had a stunning view of the Empire State Building. Despite a welcoming table for 6 and a lovely sitting area, we drifted to the window for each meal just to soak in the view of this NYC landmark so close to our residence there. The apt itself was exceptionally well-appointed. The kitchen, bathrooms, and bedrooms had every thing a traveler could need or want! The beds (1 King, 1 Queen) were exquisitely comfortable. The linens and towels were nice quality. The kitchen stocked everything we needed for quick breakfasts and fun appetizer dinners. We shopped at Trader Joes, Fairway, and Eatily -- all of which were easy walks from the apartment. We love walking in NYC and were easily able to walk to the Theater District. We did cab it to Central Park & the museums. The subway seemed easily accessible, too, but we just did not use it. Communication with the owners was effortless -- we received prompt, thorough, helpful responses to every question we asked. The only glitch was a fairly un-welcoming doorman on our first day. Other than that, we absolutely loved this property! It is just a gem in the heart of Manhattan and we feel very fortunate that we were able to stay here!

Staying in NY for the Marathon

4 of 5
I ran the New York Marathon and wanted to stay in close proximity to Central Park for easy access to the apartment after the run. It was a little further then I had anticipated because the run finishes at the south end of the park but we were close enough to the subway for quick access to transportation. When we arrived, we called Michael to let him know we were at LaGuardia and would be there as soon as possible. When we arrived the doorman greeted us and knew that we were to meet Mike upstairs. He handed us the key to the apartment and we went upstairs. Mike met us there a couple minutes later. The apartment was nicely lit and he told us what we needed to know and left. We appreciated that he told us if we needed anything he was only floors up away from us and to feel free to contact him if we needed anything. The Master Bedroom is very spacious and although the main bathroom is attached to the Master Bedroom, it was extremely handy to have the half bath. It was only myself, my husband and his sister, but having the extra bathroom made all the difference in the world. As it worked out, we didn't need to ask Mike anything and were able to navigate ourselves around the city without issue. The one thing that was odd is when we would tell the cab drivers our location they were extremely puzzled as to our location...after the marathon when I could barely walk, we got in a cab, told the driver our exact location and he proceeded to tell us it was an impossible address....then when we told him the side street address he knew where to drop us off....at any rate, we didn't want to get in an argument with him as it was nearly impossible to find a cab after the marathon. The apartment is as noted and we really enjoyed it. I would say just as a means of constructive criticism is that it would be nice to have some basic amenities like salt, pepper, sugar and even coffee in the apartment. There are local markets nearby but we arrived late so it would be nice to have had those things as we didn't want to have to buy salt, pepper and sugar when you can hardly buy those in small quantities. The other thing that was missing was face cloths, there were plenty of towels but no face cloths...otherwise, the place was as we expected....Thank you Michael and Jennifer.....Vernon, BC Canada
