Beautiful property, fantastic trip!

5 of 5
The house and the grounds are absolutely gorgeous! The house is fully equipped and very clean. The view of the bay is breathtaking and we spent most of our time there and in the backyard. The house is only a few miles from the beach and the area is very quiet and peaceful. The owner recommended fantastic places to eat and downtown southampton is only 10 minutes away. The owner was always available to answer any questions and went above and beyond to make sure my family was taken care of. I would recommend this property to any family and we would definitely come back!

Private, Comfortable House

5 of 5
This house is situated on a very private road. It is immaculate inside and very comfortable (beds, couch, reclining chair, bar, etc.). The woodwork in this place is impressive as well as many of the framed drawings on the walls done by one of the home owners. The house is well-stocked, has a great screened in porch, a fantastic deck (with a nice netted canopy around the table and chairs to keep the mosquitoes away), and a large back yard. We really loved the view of the water from the back yard and the dock and spent a lot of time out there. Even though this end of the river is shallow, there was still plenty of water to do some kayaking, a little fishing (my husband caught a small-mouth bass), some swimming (our dog), and a lot of fun rock throwing (our son). The satellite TV, internet and WiFi were also much appreciated (Note: There is no cell phone coverage at the house). The house is conveniently located to major roads that can take you all over (hikes in the Adirondacks, the quaint town of Northville, Sacandaga Lake, shopping and amenities in Amsterdam, Lake George and Saratoga- just to name a few). Meghan and Arthur also provided a bottle of local wine, a bottle of sparkling water, chocolates, and a dog bed and toy for our dog's stay; just so incredibly thoughtful! We won't hesitate to stay here again, whether next time in the fall or again in the summer!

One of the nicest homes we have ever stayed in

5 of 5
The accuracy of this listing is spot-on. In person, the house is even more beautiful than in the photos. This is a gorgeous home with every amenity you could think of. The master suite is extraordinary - beautifully decorated with lush fabrics and with an astonishing amount of space. The master bathroom is HUGE (the walk in shower is enormous) and the walk in closet has an abundance of hanging and shelf space. There is even a hotel-like safe to store small valuables - a very nice, thoughtful little extra. The non-master bedrooms (five) are decorated beautifully and every family member (and their accompanying guest) commented on how comfortable the beds, bedding and pillows were. Each bath is well stocked with what my daughter's friend said were the softest towels she'd ever used. The kitchen is huge, open, well stocked, well lit and sparkling clean. The center island includes a cook-top and a grill with a downdraft fan. There is a large, spotless outdoor grill on the second floor deck. The kitchen refrigerator is large and spotless. There are additional smaller refrigerators and wine refrigerators throughout the house also. In addition to the ice maker in the refrigerator there is a second portable ice maker on the first floor. The first floor laundry is well stocked and the washer and dryer are high-capacity. The basement doesn't seem like a "basement" at all - it is beautifully decorated and includes a workout area and pool table. (It also has a great full bathroom with shower that added another dimension of privacy for guests). The pool is wonderful - crystal clear and clean and fun with plenty of padded lounge chairs as well as Adirondack chairs that convert to loungers. There is a large basket full of colorful beach towels for guest use which was a great plus. Water access is through a charmingly rustic little path that takes you to a kayak. Paddling through the bay was both fun and relaxing. Cooper's Beach is probably the nicest beach we have ever been to (and we are beach people)- plenty of space, gorgeous clean soft sand and great waves. Don't spend a second thinking that you would prefer a house "closer" to the beach - the drive to Cooper's is quick and it was easy to go back to retrieve late sleepers or bring someone home early who had had enough sun. We like 'nice' vacations and are a little spoiled at this point. For us to say this was one of the nicest vacations we have ever had probably says it all. We cannot wait to go back.
