Everything in the photos - and so much more!

This property is just absolutely stunning and so wonderful. My husband and I got married on Shelter Island and stayed here for 4 nights during our wedding weekend. We had countless numbers of family and friends filtering in and out throughout those days, and the size was more than accommodating. There are so many different spaces for different groups to socialize in, and we just had a blast. And nobody could get over what a beautiful property it was! It’s so well suited and fun for guests of any age, and every single room inside (there are many!), as well as the pool and the grounds outside are so well kept and spotless. And huge! Little touches like the amazing sound system, the on-site laundry services, all of the kitchen amenities, and the bikes in the garage just make you feel even more at home. And the beautiful porches both upstairs and downstairs are so perfect for relaxing. I enjoyed my coffee every morning on the upstairs balcony with a view of the water. The house is also on such a beautiful and quiet block only steps away from the beach, with the occasional deer families stopping by the front lawn. We just had the most fantastic and memorable few days on Shelter Island, and this house was integral to our good time. Andrew was also always so responsive and helpful in answering all of my questions both before our stay, and during. I can’t thank you enough for sharing your beautiful home with us Andrew! We will be back!

My friends and I spent 7 nights at this house and from the moment we walked in, we were planning our next stay. The house feels like someone's primary residence in that it is clean, tastefully furnished and accommodating. The backyard was amazing and beautifully landscaped with good size pool and a tennis cort. We did take advantage of the beach at every opportunity, since the house was so well situated and very close to the beach. One could easily bike or we drove the 5 minutes down the road, literally, could not have been easier. Rob was such a professional owner and so pleasant to work with. Although no issues came up during our stay, we had another number to call, should there have been any questions or concerns. Thanks for everything Rob, we definitely will come back again next year!

An absolutely beautiful, elegant escape.

The "Play House" as it's called, was a phenomenal location for our summer get away. The huge, historic estate combines all your modern day comforts (TV in the bedroom, great bathrooms, comfortable beds, amazing kitchen) with the allure and enchantment of the early 1900's. Several of us, all who work in the arts, stayed here and we were completely inspired by the house. We enjoyed sitting in the quiet gardens and swimming in the long pool. The property was clean, very well-maintained and stunning with antique decor. A five minute walk, we could quickly be in the center of town on the main street for shopping, restaurants, pubs and the movies. A two minute drive gets you right to the beach, although I chose to take a lovely 15 minute walk through the woody, neighborhood to look at all the other houses. Mirra, the owner, is lovely, very easy to talk to and most helpful. She was quick to answer my questions and give any advice I needed regarding travel and the area. I would recommend this property to anyone. A family (I suggest children 8 years or older) would enjoy the ample amount of space, a group of friends would have numerous spots to hang out, romantic couples could get lost in the fantasy of another era, artists will feel the creative weight that is held within the walls. It's a wonderful space and I hope to return again for another romantic, creative retreat. Many thanks Mirra for preserving and sharing such a wonderful landmark.
