Excellent accommodations for out of town Wedding guests!

              5 of 5
My son was married in Middletown, NY on August 8. Our entire family is from Georgia/Florida and I live in Kentucky (but only for another month~ can't wait to move back to Florida!!) I rarely stay in a hotel unless I am just traveling through for a night. We have used VRBO for years now for most of our travel accommodations and have yet to be disappointed! I researched homes in the Middletown area for our family coming in from 3 states to stay together during the wedding festivities. It turns out that Rick and Heidi's home was just a few miles away from my new daughter-in-law's family home! We knew we had to stay there! So our muliti-generational gang all met up and spent time together when we weren't running around doing wedding things. This home is very cozy and I wish we had a need to use the wood burning stove! We were happy to be able to cook breakfast as well as do some baking for the family BBQ the day after the wedding. After staying in so many different VRBO homes, you become accustomed to certain accommodations that some may take for granted. I have to say that this home was "fully" stocked with just about anything you would need for cooking. The beds were all very comfortable and there were more than enough towels, toilet paper, paper towels, garbage bags, etc. I typically have to replenish something on my stays~ but even had I stayed a full week, I'm sure we would of had plenty. I was disappointed that we didn't have time for the fire pit or more wonderful sight seeing that I hear the area has to offer! But I did take the delicious bottle of wine from a local winery that was left as a welcome gift, over to our new in-law's home to enjoy! That was certainly a nice touch, and one I have not experienced until now! I must say, now that I know about this home, I have recommended it to my daughter-in-law's family for their family to stay when they have family gatherings with and overload of out of town guests! If we head back this way for a visit, we will certainly be giving Rick and Heidi a call! This home is located near everything needed but yet out of the way just enough to feel like you had some privacy. Thank you Rick and Heidi for providing such comfortable and welcoming accommodations in such a lovely setting! :-)

              Great place!

This rental is awesome! Beautiful property with a European flair. House is laid out great, very comfortable and Nancy is a gracious hostess who has paid attention to every last detail. Lots of original art, antiques and anything you might need to make your vaction perfect. Highly recommend! We hope to return. Only thing I would like to mention is the pool access is a public pool up the road and the home is right on the road, so it isn't very quiet. Two VERY minor details, but of note.

              A Tranquil Train Station Retreat

              5 of 5
The Highview Villa is immaculately decorated and very comfortable. A group of six of us stayed for a long weekend and we had a great time cooking, relaxing and enjoying a quiet break from the city. Maureen and Joe were gracious hosts and left us with many suggestions of what to do in the area as well as all of the fixings to make smores! It was also a special treat to see their photo album that documented the renovation process that turned a defunct train station into a spectacular home. We spent evenings admiring the detailed craftsmanship and beauty of the grand hall while enjoying the quiet, natural setting. Some venue highlights: - Enormous back yard with small trails into the woods - Bonfire pit (with s’more roasting sticks!) - Huge living room, perfect for playing Charades - A chef’s kitchen with everything you might need to prepare a feast, including a dishwasher to help clean up! We had absolutely no problems with our stay and would love to go back! Hopefully for longer next time!
