Our positive experience began well before our arrival. The owners were very accommodating and helpful - providing for our special request as well as sending a very detailed orientation on the property. We have stayed at many places and can honestly say that the booklet we received explaining everything was the best ever. We were not disappointed upon arriving. We certainly did not travel during the best time to enjoy this wooded gem and found ourselves imagining what it must be like to be there in the summer with the windows open and sitting out on the deck. It must be relaxation personified. For us, this stay was all about a place to sleep and bathe as we had family plans. We really enjoyed looking through the old albums and playing some oldies - our teenagers were greatly amused by our 'jamming' and sing-along. Great fun! The house could do with a good cleaning and maintenance, but as spring is just around the corner, I would imagine that is up-coming. Certainly recommended.

Fantastic, close by getaway

5 of 5
We (family of 3) had a very restful NYC getaway at the Pudding Pad. Very easy to get to (you'll need a car though), and overlooking a lake with great views from the house. We enjoyed kicking back at the Pad (listening to the great vinyl collection!), visiting a couple area attractions and then watching a movie at night on the large screen projector. Can't recommend enough for cityfolk to recharge the batteries. Owner is very easy to work with and the place itself is clean and well maintained with a nice funky aesthetic.

Amazing Lakefront Rental!

5 of 5
We have rented on Lake Oscawana for the past 3 summers. This summer we decided to change to another house that had more privacy and it's own private dock. We rented this house for 6 weeks, and spent the entire time up there (we live in NYC). July 15th through Labor Day. The house is on an incredible lot, on the good side of the lake overlooking the sunset each night. We were greeted by Artie when we arrived and explained everything we needed to know about the house. The house was very clean and simply decorated. Everything was included (linens, towels, fully stocked kitchen). It was just the two of us, and our French Bulldog, so there was plenty of room. We loved that they are dog friendly! We spent a lot of time on the porch, most meals, and most mornings before the sun was out on the dock. Even into the evening I would sit out there (bugs not a problem for me, they provided many citronella candles and bug spray). There is a TV with cable, stereo, but we actually didn't even turn it on during the entire time we were there! The beds were very comfortable, and it was very convenient to have a washer/dryer just below the house. We had some friends come up a few weekends, and it was great house for entertaining! The dock and beach are simply incredible. One of the best on the lake. We also enjoyed the large, flat lawn to play fetch with our dog, and the firepit for night smores. This side of the lake is perfect for diving off the dock and deep water swimming. We purchased a paddle board which we enjoyed, as well as the provided kayaks. I would highly recommend this house to rent! We will definitely be returning! Places in the area to see: Vera's Marketplace, Cold Spring Amazing small market with great produce, meats, garden items, and homemade donuts The Pantry, Cold Spring Next door to Vera's… this is a great coffee shop where you can also buy artisanal beers from all over. We purchased a growler of cold brew coffee we would refill each week. Cold Spring Farmer's Market Every Saturday. Don't miss! Cold Spring Apothecary On Main Street in Cold Spring. They have wonderful bath oils and skin products. Recently expanded to include spa services.
