Great family vacation property!

5 of 5
We rented this great 4 bedroom, 2 bath home in the Catskills for a family summer vacation for 1 week in July. As we booked this sight unseen, only using photos online, we were not sure what to expect. We were thrilled when we arrived. The house is large, spacious, comfortable, and has anything you can think of. From a huge great room with several different seating areas, a screened in porch room (my personal favorite), a huge kitchen with an eating island and a large dining area attached with a huge table that seats 10 people with no problem. There is a washer/dryer, 2 full bathrooms with tubs & showers, 4 bedrooms (3 Queen beds, 1 children's room with bunkbeds/a crib/single bed, and another bonus room with a futon). This property easily sleeps 6-10 people comfortably, including babies & children. The property manager even provided a baby high chair based on my request for one. There were 2 flat screen TVs (a large one in the living room over the fire place & another upstairs), but believe me you won't be thinking about watching TV. We didn't even turn it on at all for a week which with 5 young children ages 1.5-15 was a huge accomplishment. The grounds are spectacular, flowers growing all over, beautifully maintained landscaping, a lilly pond with frogs & salamanders, a large above ground pool, hot tub suitable for adults, and a full playground/swingset for younger children. The hammock was a big hit with the kids (and the adults the few times they let us lay on it). We were able to relax, enjoy time with the family, and cook our own meals (which not only saved lots of money, but also made it a really bonding experience). Close by are several things to do, including hiking, Howe caverns, a petting zoo (@ 2 hrs away), water park (ZoomFloom), supermarket, and several restaurants. I believe there is great skiing in the area as well, but we were there during the summer. Finally, the property managers Home Sweet Home were beyond accomodating - they catered to our every request quickly, efficiently, and with a smile. I would definitely recommend this for a family get-away or even a couples escape!
