Absolutely amazing stay!

5 of 5
My partner and I spent a week at Garibaldi's cabin over Valentine's Day, and couldn't have asked for a better stay. The cabin is wonderfully decorated, full of the conveniences you're looking for (hello, dishwasher!) and the thoughtful touches that make it welcoming (chocolate, flowers, and wine). Garibaldi has thought of everything for your arrival, including having the lights and music on and a fire ready to be lit. It was also the most beautifully made bed I've seen anywhere except for a magazine article, so definite bonus points for that. Communication before, during, and after our vacation was easy, and responses prompt. (Garibaldi also forwarded information before our rental, which was helpful.) The cabin was spotless, and you could still see the vacuum tracks on the furniture. The kitchen has had small changes since these photos, which have opened it up and made it brighter, and the appliances are up-to-date and as spotless as the rest of the cabin. The location was secluded enough that you felt like you were alone in the world (if that's what you're looking for), but close enough that you can go for lunch just 10 minutes away (we had great meals at the Phoenicia Diner). It was very cold during our stay, and Garibaldi had plenty of wood chopped and ready for use in the woodstove. We would change nothing about our stay, except perhaps making it longer! I cannot recommend this cabin, and this owner, highly enough. You will not be disappointed.

Exceeded our expectations!

5 of 5
We went up for a a quick ski getaway and were so pleasantly surprised at just how wonderful this cottage was. I agree with the other reviews the house is even better than the pictures allow it to be. The decor is rustic-chic and is well stocked for all your needs. The woodsy location allows you to escape the hectic pace of life, yet you are just down the road from the town of Phoenicia. Our only word of caution would be that the driveway and walkway to the front door can be quite slippery after any snow or ice storm in the winter, making it difficult for the elderly or disabled. We highly recommend this for a woodsy getaway!

Truly Lovely Cottage and Surroundings

5 of 5
Stayed at this delightful cottage for a 4 day weekend - wished it could have been for longer! The cottage is cozy, welcoming, interesting and peaceful. Every night we cooked our dinner over the stone fireplace and relaxed by the creek. The cottage is stocked with everything you need from pots and pans to music and books (and good ones too!),and unique eclectic furnishings. Brought our dog and she had a blast too!. The owner is lovely and stayed, despite our late arrival, and showed us everything and gave us all the scoop on the area. This area is beautiful and we packed in a lot in the four days. Phoenicia is really sweet and very dog friendly with some yummy restaurants (Sweet Sues) the area has loads of hiking, good antique shops and flea markets and great towns nearby such as Woodstock. We really fell in love with this area (and this property) and we will surely be back! - great vacation!
