My family and I spent three weeks at this home last summer (August 2011). In a word, we LOVED our stay, this home and its stellar setting. It is hard to put into words the beauty of the vista. The view from the ground floor -- emerald-green dunes, beach, Long Island Sound -- is spectacular. The view from the second floor is exceptionally spectacular. The house itself is open, airy, light and welcoming. The first time our 8-year-old daughter entered she shouted out "Its so free!!!" The furniture is comfortable and easy-going. We cooked many huge and delicious dinners in the kitchen, then ate on the terrace with jaw-dropping sunsets as the backdrop. Another attraction is the friendly, low-key one-block-long neighborhood. At the same time, when you're in the house, looking out, you feel as if there isn't a neighbor anywhere around! You are nestled among the dunes. Our kids spent hours at a time playing on the beach and in the nearby inlet and pond. They had the time of their lives floating in inner tubes, catching crayfish and collecting rocks. Perhaps the simplest way to summarize how much we loved this home is that, within half a year of our stay there ... we went from complete newcomers to the area to purchasing our own home just down the street! Otherwise we'd return and rent this house again in a second. An idyllic two week vacation.
